16 vs 17 inch

I need to replace the tires on my 93 Ty which has the stock 245 50 16 tires and aftermarket wheels. I noticed that most of these posts reference 17" wheels and tires. I don't think I can put 17" tires on the 16" wheels - so did GMC produce 17" wheels for the SyTys? Will 17" wheels fit the 16" lug pattern?

Look under the wheels and tire forum. There you will find offset, lug pattern needed and what wheel tire combos have worked well on others rides.
