Re: 17x9.5/11 combo.

right on and is there a combo where we can fit a 325 or 335 or even 345 in the rear. Just a big fat rear tire and doesnt scrape.

Guys have gone bigger than 315's. It seems they are usually a wider, 18" rims though. I have seen guys use a 325 or 335 (can't remember which) sized tire on a 17x11 rim, but you may get a little sidewall buldge.

A very nice gesture on your part! I love the stories of young people getting rewarded for working hard

He is, Daron. Also TBSSOwners.com. Good guy to deal with, even if he is from San Francisco.

Ideally, for the rear 17x11 wheels, a 36mm offset (or even a little lower) bolts right on without any need for spacers.

50mm offset in the back without spacers looks silly because the wheels are tucked in too far. :2cents:

Re: 17x9.5/11 combo.

Edit: Mine are 50mm.
I've ran both 50mm and 36 mm on mine without spacers. I guess it depends on the "look" your going for. With the 50 mm, the wheels were almost flush with the cladding. With the 36mm, the wheels stuck out of the cladding just a tiny bit. The 36mm did look more aggressive though.

Great info for people looking to do Corvette wheel swaps.

I've been looking at the 9.5/11" ZR1 wheels lately, and just wanted to point out that the 11" rears with 50mm offset will stick out 1mm further than the stock wheels. The 36mm offset will stick out 15mm (about 9/16") beyond where the stockers sit.

Go with whatever look you prefer, but the 50mm ones are what you want to match the stock appearance.

Re: 17x9.5/11 combo.

Awesome info for a newbie SY owner, THANK YOU
I've been searching & reading about wheel/tire combo's on the site for days now and my heads ready to friggin explode :kboom:

Ok so I think I have what i need to start the hunt

Front
17x9.5 56mm offset
275/40R17

Rear
17x11 50mm offset
315/35R17

My only question is....
Is this wheel/tire combo normal for a particular year corvette ???
Meaning I buy oem wheels & tires from a specific year and get this exact combo

Or
Do I have to hunt for the wheels 2 at a time to match these specs
And hunt for the tires separately

Thanks

Re: 17x9.5/11 combo.

I just installed these 19x11 Corvette wheels this week on 295/30/19 tires. I used a 1.5" spacer in the back and nothing in the front for the 18x9.5...fyi
