Ok ive had a problem of 18*KR in park for some time.Ive been tracking a false knock.So I picked up a ECM and Memcal and tried them and my KR now peaks at 10 and alot is crappy gas im sure.So I tried my old ECM setup without my Ultimate installed and it peaked at 10 also.Is my Ult. bad?? or is that because the timing curve is different??It says its a version 7, and complaints to be aware of this version?Can I get it fixed?Thanks All!!!

It should never show KR unless you are under boost.

IMO it sounds like the chip isn't seated properly.

You need to take some tinsnips to your ECM. Just make a couple of cuts to the edges of the opening and bend the metal up so the piggyback will fit in there.

I forget what the max timing the stock chip will pull with knock counts, but alot of custom and aftermarket chips have a higher max retard. Maybe thats why the Ultimate allows 18 degrees, while you only see 10 with the others. You'll still need to find out why your getting the knock counts, but thats probably why you see different amounts of timing pulled.

I have my max retard set high on my Ty.

My only experience with KR that high and it was 18kr was when someone made me a custom 3bar chip and I swapped it out.. the truck pulled like a raped ape.. I drove it for about an hour in all of it.. felt like it agained 40 hp until I hooked up datamaster and saw all the kr!!

I tried three other chips and all were fine but this one chip.. I finally decided that it was something with the chip and tossed it. I'd try to contact one of the guys that make the ultimate and see if you can ship it to them to have it looked at or possibly upgraded. www.sytychips.com
