They are pretty easy to blow up without nitrous, unless you really know what you are doing. What kind of other modifications do you have?

Re: 1992 typhoon nitrious oxide

its stock 75hp shot nos just wanting to give it a little more

www.powertuneplus.com

Get it running right and you'll be surprised how much better it runs than when you got it. You really don't want to put nitrous on there, much less on an untuned truck.

Just an FYI, the fastest known awd Sy in the world had nitrous. It was removed after using it only a few times, IIRC.

was just asking for help on putting something on not a bunch of wise ass cracks from some assholes

You better develop a thicker skin if you expect help. Also, don't take these types of things so seriously, it will help as you become an adult.

Re: 1992 typhoon nitrious oxide

just adding a dry shot is looking for trouble
Do a wet kit , but even then the syty intake is horrible at wetflow even distribution . The only reason im putting on this 50shot wetkit is because my edelbrock carb intake that i converted to fuel injection is a great wetflow intake . Dont do the drykit IMO .

Try between the stock intercooler and throttlebody, maybe tap the intercooler side to mount the nozzle. If you mount it on the air box then the nos will have to pass tru the turbo and intercooler.
A 75 shot might not be enought, I say hit it with a 150hp shot and see how it feels.
Godd luck.

Leave the N2o to the mustangs !!! Not trying to be A dick, Your just going to blow it up is the real truth, then your going to say Wow they were right. Just put All new wires, cap rotor, A good tune chip & maybe put A larger turbo on it like A 20G. & that would tak place of the N2o. I have messing with these trucks for 12 years now & N20 is NOT the way to go, will just Mess your truck up.. Just my .02 & trying to help.

Also replace any damaged vacuum hoses and check valves if you haven't already. Adam (SYO237) sells silicone hose kits which are more durable than conventional rubber hoses.

Re: 1992 typhoon nitrious oxide

Ive been around for 11 or so years. Ive heard of 2 maybe 3 success stories from using NOS and they were only 50 shots and used to get a bigass turbo to spool faster. There's a reason why you dont see everyone using it on the trucks, even the guys who have the big money dont use it.

It just doesnt work for our application.

Calling everyone an asshole on here...not a way to get future help. :2cents:

Re: 1992 typhoon nitrious oxide

Its almost an unwritten rule: Superchargers/Turbochargers + Nitrous is a big no-no. You're already developing high cylinder pressures, so why risk it by increasing it even more? By this point it sounds like all-against-one, but its tough love from people who've had these trucks and know the ins and outs- they're all trying to save you time, grief and money. Good luck with the Ty!
