Welcome aboard,
Tech articles is a great place to pull info from.
One of the best investments I made when I first got my truck was a scan master g from bailey engineering.

2nd the scanmaster. Helps a lot.
Is your truck throwing any codes? Reason you're worried about afr under boost? Are you comfortable at all doing your own tuning and repairs?

I am getting a ck eng light, has been a different code each time, so dont know where i am for sure. have looked at obd 11 readers most dont go back to 1992 yr, they stop at 1996 and later, so a little confused as to what to by ,,was looking for some advice as to what to get, (someone that has something more than an opinion) that being said would like to know more about your scan master,(what, where, when) .
thanks for your reply, hope to talk to you some more. Have to go right now Boss said supper on table, dont want to fight dog for it.

This is a new deal tuning on something that has a turbo, BUT sure willing to learn, not my first street toy, so not completely lost. Have had several
street rods. Just not any that is force inducted. all have been naturally aspirated.
Going to look for info on scanmaster, thank you for the advice

Sy/Ty's have the earlier iteration of the OBD system. Its often called OBD 1. No OBD2 based code reader will function with the OBD 1 interface of sy/ty's as far as I'm aware. As @Sy2622 said, the Scanmaster G is a very useful tool, among others that are available to you. Here is the link for the Scanmaster G from Bailey.

I personally would highly suggest buying a GM code reader, and then finding out exactly what service engine code/codes are going off. If you click here this link will take you to the OBD1 GM code reader I use on my truck from time to time. You can also buy these with the code reader manual from Auto-parts stores so it should be widely available should you choose a different source.
