Repost from old Ad with new location and price. Truck is now in Reno Nevada for sale at 9K OBO.

For sale is my 1993 Typhoon with 125K miles. I really don't want to sell it, but its the right move for me right now. Quick rundown on the history.

I bought the truck about 3 years ago. It was originally a white truck, but at some point it was painted a dark silver. About 2 years ago, the right rear quarter was hit by a semi on the freeway, so that was replaced. At that time I had the entire truck repainted very close to the silver that I bought it with. The color now is Lexus IS300 dark silver metallic. It looks very nice and was a 4500 paint job/repair. I have a copy of the work order and pictures of the damage if interested. The only place you can tell it was originally a white truck is the firewall. All door jams, ect have been painted. Came out looking like a factory paint job, I was very happy with it. It still looks like new paint today, with only a couple very small blemishes. Anyway, I eventually grew tired of the truck, and traded it to a fellow board member for a drag Chevy 1500 pickup. I never got into the pickup, and really wanted my Ty back, and the owner of the ty wanted his truck back, so we worked out a deal for a trade-back about 6 months ago. Anyway right now the truck has a clean Florida title that is in my name.

The truck has been in California and Nevada 95% of its life. It is VERY clean and RUST FREE. Its one of the nicest 93's Ive seen.

As far as I know, the motor is original. It has 125K on it, and still runs great! It has the typical shot valve seals so it smokes a bit on start up, uses about a quart of oil ever 3K miles.

The transmission has about 2K miles on it at the most. It has a mild shift kit and a corvette Governor, along with upgraded bands. Shifts great! Front end has all new bushings, and a new pitman arm.

Mods list:
RPM Upper Intercooler
Aluminum Lower Exchanger on custom hangers
Re-routed IC lines
Super high flow Meziere IC pump
Blitz BOZ mounted on Stainless up-pipe
Stock DP to 3" gutted cat through 3" turbo-style muffler dumped before rear axle.
MSD 6A Spark box
Ultimate chip with pillar gauge
Vac/Boost gauge on A-pillar
Deep sump transmission pan
"Monster" rear sway bar
Poly front sway bar bushings
Converted to a Ford-style starter solenoid to get rid of the dreaded "starter click".
K&N air filter
Lowered about 2" front and rear
Solid motor mounts
Bazooka-style subwoofer in the back
Right rear corner cladding is an aftermarket fiberglass piece
Will throw in a turbo timer and set of BFR R1 DOT 18" race tires if I get the full 9K for the truck.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I was told the truck made 215AWHP and 410AWTQ with a clogged cat on pump gas on the T218 setting on the ultimate. I don't have sheets to confirm this. I ran it once at the track, out of 3 passes the best I could manage was a 13.4 @ 99mph. With anything more than a 5PSI launch, it would not hook and kill the 60' times. With some better tires it should be a 12.xx truck no question, on the stock turbo. I have the slip from this run if interested.

Interior is very nice. No tears in the leather, no cracks in the dash. No one believes its a 93 when they see it.

Current issues that need addressing:
Front windows do not work very well. I believe its a motor problem, although I was told they were replaced right before I picked it up. May also be a switch issue. Not sure. Have'nt looked into it, I just use the A/C when its warm out.

The center console has a broken hinge, and the CD player does not work.

There are a few squeakes in the interior when driving sometimes. The ride is a bit rough with the suspension set up the way it is, however it handles very well for an SUV.

The rear bumper has about a silver dollar size spot of paint missing. I will post a pic of this later. Its not very noticable.

Engine has a bit of a rough idle when it is warm outside. It has done this ever since I have owned it. The MSD seemed to help. Only seems to do this when its warm. I also notice the Ultimate indicate knock when its warm out. I believe its just crappy gas, as it goes away with 100 oct fuel. Its not that bad and I cannot hear it, I just notice the red LED on the gauge blink.

Also the Ultimate has been acting up. It still works great, however it switches programs whenever the truck is turned off.

Thats about all I can think of. Delivery is available for up to 500 miles from Reno NV for the price of gas and a plane ticket home. I'll drive it pretty much anywhere on the west coast, or fly up to Reno and drive her home yourself.

Shoot me any questions you may have here or PM. If you would like to chat about it, PM me and I will send you my phone number.

Not looking for trades, sorry. Unless you happen to have a supercharger kit for a B6 S4 lying around.:rotf:

Wow it's very sharp. Do you have any outdoor/in the sun pics? Is it silver or a charcoal?

More of a dark charcoal color. Check LIL QIK's link for direct sun shots, will try to get some next time its sunny out. Clicked these off this evening in the twilight, don't really show the color of the paint but thought they looked good, so I'll post them up anyway. I've been driving the truck daily the past few days and its running great. Just needs a new owner!

Hey, I love the pics. I am still waiting. I did get the wifes approval. Now, I have to get through the holidays and in late Jan, most likely Feb. Is it running fine as a DD?

Yes its running great as a DD. Like mentioned before, the ride is a bit rough with the suspension set up the way it is, and I noticed a bit of a high speed shake on the freeway. Besides that and the occasional rough idle, the truck is running great. Would drive it anywhere without thinking twice about it. Let me know when your ready to buy, I'm most likely going to stash it in a garage for the winter to keep the snow off of it. But its been so nice out I just keep driving it :rotf:

A shake? is it a shock, or balance on tires? What type of suspension set up is making it rough? Just curious. The rough idle, how bad is it, is it only during start up or is it detination of the spark not happening?

I will give you 7k for it. I just have to wait to pick it up!

Dude we have been over this. Just send me $500 and I'll hold the truck until you can come get it! If you seriously want the truck I don't see why this is a problem. :dunno:

Have you tried a credit union? I know a couple people that have financed older cars through a credit union. Might be worth looking into?
