hey so im new here and here is a little about me. im 19 i bought my typhoon about a month ago. the engine had a knock in it so my dad and i are in the process of putting a new jasper engine in it. a few of the extras on my ty are 3" exhaust, cold air intake wth box, upgraded turbo (i think its a 20g mitsu turbo), rear sway bar, second inercooler, cowl hood, abs delete, 2 stage fuel pump, 3-bar map?, chiped, battery relocation kit, 160 thermostat, and the new engine is boared out 40 thousands. my other car is a pontiac sunfire, so i cant wait 2 have some real power.

where'd you get your jasper engine? did you triple check it to make sure it's the correct motor? why is it .040 over if its a new motor

i got it from jasper, and yes we checked and made sure that it was the right moter. also its a 93' white wth grey moldings.

i dont know why its 40 over. i know that jasper does some extra things to their moters to make them better, stronger so that they can back them for 3 years 100k miles.

I promise you they are not stonger. I would like you see what they put in their motor. What compression is the motor. What rods did they put in and pistons? You should have come on here earlier and done some research and used a company on the board. Becasue you will end up pulling that motor out again.

I wonder how many times jasper will warrenty thier motor before they tell you to go some where else or what their excuse will be not to warrenty the motor.

andrew is a friend of mine guys,him and his dad.andrew is a fine young man and i dont think he will beat on it.i tried to steer them away from the jasper but they deal with jasper alot and have had good luck.scott is gonna tune it (safe) befor he drives it.

This is a father son team, dad is a cert. mechanic and they have good friends that are on our board so they have great information available to them. I think they will just be facing the typical crap that is syty :tup:

At any rate, good luck to you and make sure you talk to your neighbor!!:tup:

im thinking about getting the body moldings painted white. visor off! and getting some rims, black wth red lip. red calipers. that would look nice i think.

all that later. 1st get it runing, get tuned, then new driveshaft. thanks to dave i now know that factory driveshafts are crap. untill then NO boost launching.:cry:

dunno about the engine but welcome!!!

the rims sound bad - stick with white and grey, lower it and forget the red calipers. Photoshop your ride before piling money into it.

Dalwine is your friend, seems like you know some peeps on here, It's one of the coolest rides that a 20 year old can have.

Ask lots of questions and listen, people on here know their stuff. Have fun man!

Welcome Andrew! I didn't realize you were over in Niles Dave. I have some friends in Niles, I'll have to see what you guys have going on next time I'm over there.

I like the white/gray look:tup:. I am not a fan of changing the color from the factory, but that is just me. Congrats and welcome to the board!

thanks for the input everyone. i am a big fan of tuner cars (yes that statement will get me in trouble) but i want 2 bring that into my typhoon in a soubtle way. hence the black rims red lip and red calipers. if ya hate the idea, sorry, but thats how i roll.i am looking forward to learning much from all of you sytyers.
