2 stage boost setup

I am using a hobs switch set for 2 lbs of boost.
it switches the horn button to be a switch on my boost solenoid
my wastegate has a 5 lb spring... the ecm is set for 10lbs for now

pushing the horn button gives me a jump from 5 to 10lbs instantly
for those moments you just need a little more.

i may fabricate a small switch to be closer to the rim so my hands
dont need to leave the wheel

Re: 2 stage boost setup

Im still considering using the shift light logic to control the boost solenoid
to avoid frying the tires in the 1st 3 gears by limiting the boost to the
waste gate then switching on the solenoid when and where i want.

hmmm lots of other stuff too but its a surprise lol

Re: 2 stage boost setup

i've tried a couple things for this.

I ran a 2stage manual controller with an in-cab switch (2 manual valves, with a relay). but it didnt give me the PSI swing i wanted between stages (20psi, it could only do a 11psi swing)

now i'm using my wastegate DC vs. MPH table in my tune, to limit the wastegate to 10psi under 20mph, and full boost over 20mph. This way i can get off the line smoothly, then all the power comes in.

I was thinking the same thing aeroking posted, with code59 we made the WGDC so it can be MPH based. Now you can set boost at several MPH steps.

(This has been on the internet for many years from the turbo Dodge guys.)

im nervous about bleeds and granger valves... had one stick closed once... almost killed myself lol

with all 4 wheels this will work lol
but as i hit peak torque in each of 1st, 2nd and 3rd the tires light up unless i lift slightly
in that rpm range in those gears i need boost to back off. after 4000 i want it all back in
and 4th and 5th i want it all in all the time. This is what sparked the shift light logic idea.

Actually, the stock system will do exactly what you want- you can make it reset to a given WG duty cycle at the shift points, and then have it build up to an assigned level.
