2003 Nats. In colorado?

ghettosled

SYTY SUPERSTORE
The problem I see with having the Nationals switch around to different locations is it will make it a regional event not a national one. Trucks from FL wont come to Co. Trucks from Ca wont go to the east coast.

I myself would not want to race in Colorado. The elevation is rediculous. I dont know if many of you are used to racing above sea level, but even at 3000ft (our closest track) your truck runs .4-.6 slower if your tune is still good. I have heard the Co. tracks are nice, just really slow.

Vegas would be the ideal spot if you are going to make it a west coast event. They race at night (the psca races start at 5-6pm and go to like 2-3am each night). This gives you time to hang out during the day, do whatever you want, etc.

If you want to see each year have many trucks from all over the country you have to keep it centrally located. Having separate events in different areas of the country is cool, but they should remain regional events not national.

I'll hang out in Vegas - flights are cheap. If I gotta fly to Vegas to see the ghettosled run - that's what I'll do.

I was always under the impression that elevation did not bother forced induction engines that much at all?? .4 to .6 second affect is a lot at 3k feet. I believe Bandimere is 5,600 feet or something isn't it?? Maybe some of the 13 second trucks up here should not feel so bad. I guess I will be fortunate to be in the 13s. :x

These trucks are cursed
If people want to move the location each year thats fine by me, i guess ill just wait till the nats come around to a city that wont cost me 2grand to drive out to. no offense to anyone here, but if i had 2 grand to blow, i sure as hell wouldnt be blowing it on a road trip, for a weekend at the track.

mike is right if you move the nationals around people arent going to drive from opposite ends of the country, even for us so cal guys, i think 2000+ miles is pretty damn far and chitown is pretty close to central US. But moving the nats around will give more people a chance to go just not all at once. So if the rotation idea is considered, then ill just sit back and wait for them to come to vegas.

Alot of Ty's seem to run 15.2's...
Cheatham and Ry even ran 13's with their goodies on.
13's is SCREAMING up here.
NHRA gives almost a full second altitude adjustment for 5800!
I had to email them as it was off their charts!

How about in Michigan at the old PAS (now wheel to wheel ) building? or at the engine plant where the engines were built ( romulus ),
or at the assembly plant ( Pontiac truck assembly )..........?

We did the middle of the US and nobody showed up.

Really? Hrm...Wonder why that was. You'd think that if it was in the middle, that everyone could make it! Or most...

i swore up an down that next year my truck will DEFINITELY be at Nats, but if its going to be essentially in the far west, I'd rather wait than drive that shit!

I mean, no matter where they are held there will be some folks that luck out (ChiTown SyTy gets the good deal this year), but if you start placing it away from the middle of the country, those furthest away will never want to make the trip.

Plus, thin air = bad timeslips

lets just have it in FL...

we have 100+ registered trucks known in FL alone...thats already near half the attendence anyhow

seriously though...mike is correct.

everyone bitches on where the nats should be. to far east, we lose the West coast crew... to far west, we lose the East coast crew.... god forbid we have it in the middle, cause then everyone bitches why we should have it on either the east or west coast.....

heres the most important question.

WHO WILL ORGANIZE THE NATS FOR 2003?

im gonna do the website whereever the nats go....someone needs to take charge and start organizing...

All of these are great candidates.
Surely we will have GMs attention if we have it on their own stomping grounds.

Get some ex PAS employees to come out of hiding.

I know I would be happy with anywhere on the "left side" of the country. Like some others have said chicago is about 2000 miles for me. I just don't fell like driving that far for a weekend.

Viva Las Vegas!

Well, I would like to see it somewhere on the west side, since I agree with bunch of west coast people that 2000 miles is long drive! But thats just me. :(
