seeing this work getting done almost makes me want to work on mine again. then again i do have a limited "800 total" sti silver with leather sitting around the corner from me and 3 "4 if i count you mike" friends with sti/wrx's all saying how they love them. that makes me want to sell the ty or a couple of the 12 cars in the backyard and go buy a new sti.

But Renz's STi isn't limited. It's one of the million other World Rally Blue STis out there with alcantrara seats and a big spoiler.

If you repaint the motor get rustoleam hammer finish it doesnt come off, I have had it survive the hot tank

I couldn't find a high temp rustoleam hammer finish? I found the regular(non high-temp) is that what you used?

Thanks,

Re: #2320, Chapter 5, verse 12 (w/ pics of course)

guess i'll post a small picture update...

removed my wiring harness to clean it up, and will prolly repaint my firewall while its bare.

and i'm getting ready to chop up and modify my atr headers  I'm mounting the turbo way away from the motor so it doesn't point right at the stupid radiator. Plus i'm going w/ and all alum radiator that has no tranny or oil cooling provisions, so that'll clean up behind the radiator also.

Had this bracket waterjet cut....i think its pimptastic. Some will say its too far away from the motor, but i like it. Plus it'll support the weight of the turbo to give the headers some help and not crack hopefully. It'll most likely be powdercoated black in the end. But i made 2 just in case i want to polish one or paint it pink or somethin. Its 1/4" stainless in case anyone cares.

few more parts showed up today while i was driving my tart cart home

img_1663.jpg

intercooler core (13" x 18" x 3.5") I was shocked at how heavy this thing is.

4" aluminum pipe (this will be my intercooler to throttle body pipe, obviously will be cut down and shaped to ovular

and 2 Jbends of 1.25" stainless for my header surgery. I almost have all the pieces needed to put this damn thing back together. I think the only things i'm lacking at this point are my tranny xmember, tcase adapter, tci tranny controller, torque converter, and intercooler end tank pieces. I've bought all this crap minus the torque converter..just waiting its arrival (anyday now :) )

Hopefully the next pics will be intake plenum and intercooler fabrication pics :) Might have to settle for header surgery pics though

Re: #2320, Chapter 5, verse 12 (w/ pics of course)

So are you on track to have it done by NatsX? You've got your hands full between the Nats 9 Vid, your short bus, and your Ty. Wonder what will get done first.

I send both versions when I sell one so whatever PC/laptop you used, you'll be able to program it. 32 bit runs fine on XP and then the DOS is just in case you have an old $50 ebay laptop your gonna use.

Re: #2320, Chapter 5, verse 12 (w/ pics of course)

got a couple more parts today. I now have all the parts to make my front mount intercooler. I designed the end tanks and had them waterjetted.

I stacked it together so you can get an idea of how it'll look when its welded up
icsetup.jpg

I have the 4" aluminum tubing (see previous pics) to squash so its ovular...then the IC will mate up directly with the throttle body (throttle body will be facing forward - not using a stock upper intake). I look forward to having this completed so i can work on mounting it. 18"x13"x3.5" core btw. The inlet port is 3" and will face toward the passenger side.
