The Vortex motor that I have in my truck are there things I shouldn't do to it as far as aftermarket parts?

Whatever you do, don't pump in too much punctuation into your 4.3. It will certainly blow. ;)

Well is there any upgrades that I should do?

its not really going to get much faster with things like cold air intake, exhaust, etc...so you're better off just leaving it alone and spend your time & $ cleaning/maintaining it. :2cents:

My 94' SS came with the CPI and I went the K&N cold air intake route, underdrive pulleys, 180 t-stat, Jet stage 2 chip and the best I could muster was a 10.30 in the 1/8. I felt after all those costs I wasted about $750. Plus the fuel injection system on those CPI's is a pretty poor design. When I supercharged mine a little later I had to put the alky kit on it to keep from running lean at about 3,000 rpms. She runs pretty good for a daily driver now though and holds her own.

You got about what I want to do I just want a sleeper that no one knows whats under the hood. Is there any way to upgrade the fuel system to match any upgrades that I do?

Re: 4.3 Vortec CPI

Just buy mine, it's for sale in the members classifieds and it's a sleeper. I want to start on a typhoon project, I need more room than the ss, otherwise I'd keep it.

What are your plans/ideas for upgrades?

A better cam and some newer vortec heads. Look into upgrading the fuel system.

If that doesn't work. Try this.....

Well I found a new frame that I would like to use that is custome built and I would like to build the motor a little and then some suspension upgrades to get it to handle a little better. Any suggestions?

Re: 4.3 Vortec CPI

I think the other guys are on the right path, maybe a cam and some 96' vortec heads but I wouldn't dump much money into it if you're looking for speed, N/A 4.3 just ain't gonna happen. If you are then boost it or go V8. V8 which is probably your best bet if your shelling out green backs.

I have really done my suspension yet so I can't help much there. Helwig, or belltech sway bars, poly mounts and bushings etc, I'd say off the top of my head.
