Stock truck?

Are they low or high impedance inj ? if low, you need modify your ECU.

Going from stock inj to #40 inj is like bump up the AFPR
But if they are cheap, why not.
A change in injectors need new chip.
Theres alot of good tuners on the forum. I'm not gone name anyone because I will feel bad if i let someone out by misstake :)

You will need a new chip to match the injectors, most likely it will be a custom tune.

fixed it for you.

There really isn't an off the shelf 40# bin that was ever any good. There is one on code59 that is better than anything that has been in the past, but that doesn't mean it will just work on your truck which could and probably does have a different combination.

Agree. Their are few different brands of 40#, 42# injectors out their as well, and none of the injectors are linear to each other (ie need different part throttle fuel maps).

40# injectors are a good option for someone who want to do a their own custom tune, got them for really cheap and has mild turbo upgrade.

Really agree. People seem to think that since the number is close, that the 40# and 42# injectors are the same and can use the same chip. Doesn't work that way.

Rob (WYOSYCLONE)'s code59 tune for 40s is the best one that I've seen over the years.
That doesn't mean you can just blindly drop it in and have it work well. (Unless you have the *exact* same turbo, exhaust, converter, overall weight, air intake, heads/cam/etc...)

Re: #40 injectors?

I was looking at the ones in the market place for sale right now, actually they are 37# injectors they guy said, I am going to find out if they are high or low impedence. Here is the link tell me what you guys think, I was really interested in the AFPR on the rail but I figured if the injectors were better I would use them also. I am running pretty much a stock truck, waller turbo, 3in exhaust and CAI thats about it, on a fresh motor. Possibly a set of L35 heads. But here is the link let me know what you think.

The injsecotrs are high imperdence, so they will work with the stock computer. Any more input would be great, how do you think these will work with my setup and what not. Thanks

Re: #40 injectors?

Are you running out of injector with your turbo and motor combo? i'd personally spend the money on a walbro fuel pump and afpr before injectors especially since you have a larger turbo then stock.. Besides any fuel injector upgrade for these trucks will need a custom tune so why not just go with a set of 50's or 60's when your ready to invest in a custom tune then your done

Re: #40 injectors?

Well that is basically why I was buying the rail is because it has a AFPR and it comes with the injectors also. I don't think I will be running out of fuel with my injectors now, I am still getting it all put back together I figured while it was apart pick this up and get it on so I dont have to rip it all apart again. But my though was for the price, this rail came with AFPR, injectors and harness and the rail all set? Good idea or no?
