Re: 9 sec Bowtie build

I have bought and sold to Bill with zero issues. This thread is his, and you've said your peace Jimmy. Why not start your own BASH Bill thread?

Congrats on your progress Bill. Don't worry about getting that turbo to spool. Your heads and cam combination, along with trans, gearing, and converter are why that turbo will be fine.
Ok.

Carry on ******,err Bill.

Will as it goes with these build I have to face another hurdle. crank from Bryant racing was built with small block chevy rod ends so the Oliver rods I have are usless bc they have a 4.3 journal end which is bigger. and as people know the 4.3 use offset rods so small block rods need to be machined on one side to create offset. so i've ordered Callies I-beam rods for a small block.

this was the bump in the road that made me pause for a momemt and think about doing an LS1 again what would you guys do? part out the bowtie build out and do a turbo 427 lsx motor or just keep pushing a head.

The rods sound like a slight bump, wouldnt be enough for me to change the plans. If you want an LS powered Sy i'll sell you mine :)

The bullseye turbos continue to impress me, may be the route i go since i am looking to go to a larger turbo very soon.

Re: 9 sec Bowtie build

well since im now waiting on Callies to build me an I-beam rod for the bowtie block. I started to clean the bottom of the truck. Naste guys who are fimilar with my truck and have seen the outside of my truck (30k original miles) will tell you its pretty clean. Ive had it for 13 years and its never been washed or rained on. But the bottom of the truck did have road grim and the frame had that nasty GM under coat crap that just attracts dirt. So I purple powered the hole underside and got all the grim off, tomm it will get a coat of wax

Re: 9 sec Bowtie build

Well after working with Tom over at Sportmachines for over a year I think I got the first Sy 4-link released to the public. While the istall has been pretty straight forward with very little bumps in the road im excitedto get this thing back on the ground and see how she sits witj 18x12 CCW Classics on the back with the 335 kdw. As usual Tom and the guys have designed a very well thought piece. I would say the hardest part has been setting up the rear tp the factory wheel base so the rear is in the truck correctly. The rear is with in a 16th of inch of being 100% perfect I'm hoping it will be okay. Here are some pics of the install

I would def say there is a huge difference. The leaf springs alone are super heavy. All though the bracket on the rear is pretty beefy def no where near that of one leaf spring
