'92 preproduction Sy numbers ???

I keep finding conflicting information on this topic, most places I find say three. This makes sense considering total Sy production is normally listed as 2998. Also are there 2 red Sy's like is listed on the registry, or is #4855 the only one?

If anyone can link me to any other information on #4855 or knows someone who has some info, I would appreciate it. I believe it was Merk that is said to know all of the SyTy history, correct?

This and most others list 3. I think somewhere on Sportmachines, it said 3, though I was unable to find it.

Has 5 listed, 2 left in existance.

Has 7 listed, with pictures for 3.

I'm not an expert but from what I've read & have read on here there has been only 3 red Syclones other than the Marlboro hot licks red ones. I've also read that 1 of those was two toned red on 1 side and white on the other. I know how you feel though because I have too read on Sportmachines there's only 3 red ones >.

and you will never get in touch with him due to a past incident that happened (outside of SyTy) to force him to move out of the US and take up residence in Canada. He is no longer around and there are no signs he will ever return.

Yeah, I forgot about the Merk issues until you mentioned it. I guess I can scratch him off the list. I hope the documents for these trucks are backed up and in the hands of more than one person. I would like to have some documents for the truck, but I realize this likely won't happen for quite some time. For now I would just like to hear anything and everything known about it.

The 2998 isn't correct. The thought on 2998 was their was 2995 91's and 3 92's.

There are 2995 regular VIN's (1GDCT14Z....) and as far as I know 1 1992 regular VIN.

Your truck was originally a red Sonoma. At PAS, it was sprayed white/grey and used to advertise/promote the 1992 model so for all practical purposes, it is a white/grey 1992 prototype. Mike Pocobello (then Pres. of Triad Corp who oversaw PAS) sold the truck to his son who had PAS spray it red/red before taking ownership, thus the long continuance of it being red/red.

The short of it....the truck should be white/grey to be "authentic". I liked the red/red better so that is what is was professionally resprayed.

Too bad about Merk. I didn't know he was outta the US.

I like it red/red better also, though it doesn't look bad white grey. I have the white/grey picture as the background on my computer. Interestingly, when I was tinkering with the power door lock stuff, I found it still has white overspray behind the door panels.
