white paint that looks good from 20-30 feet away? well, at least they don't seem to be bullshitters. White in rough shape should look good from 10', let alone hunting distances with a knife. GLWP

He sent me pictures of the bottom and it looks like it is leaking fluids from every joint. Interested to hear how the review goes.

I think I have seen this truck for sale before maybe a year ago when I was looking to buy a TY.

Went and looked at this truck today....... the short and sweet answer to this thread is that it was dissappointing, and overpriced for the amount of work it needs. Forgot the memory card in the computer so I couldnt get pics, but heres the brief list of what it needs/things I saw wrong.

The good:

Drives smooth, has new brakes and shocks, not a single creak or rattle, that was impressive. Its a Ty. The front bumper cover has never had a plate on it and still has the dimples. No rust on tailgate

The bad:

As I walked up on it, my hopes of it being decent moderate mileage truck disappeared. The paint is rough. Someone thought it would be a good idea to touch it up with white out. Front bumper was sprayed with fogs and stuff still on. Arches have cracks. The pass rocker has a crack and hole. Dr rear corner is broken. Dr quarter is broken. Dings and scratches here and there. Windsheild area is showing rust spots, above rear window is bubbling. Bottoms of the doors had some surface rust. IT must have been a no rack truck, but someone thought to put a rack on after. Center strips have no screws, just glue, side rails are like a 92.

Interior...seats were nice. Dash and carpets clean. Door panels decent. The panels on each side of the guages were black and so was the radio surround and ashtray. There was brackets for who knows what on the a pillars. Had the manual with the supplements.

Mechanicals..... was a NC truck originally, then michigan in 02 and the last couple years in NY. Frame isn't bad but shows the last 10 years in the north. Def fluid leaks... TC has the xmember soaked and the diff and pan had a nice protective coating. Trans lines had compression joints. Someone at some point started to mod it. Had a aux trans cooler, an aux electric fan on the rad, afpr, Kenne bell intake. They changed the injectors but never put on the retaining clips. Wires were shot, cap and rotor not brass and no name brand. Vac lines were the ususal mess of stock and rubber and T's, etc. Exhaust was "fixed" with a 2.5" replacement cat back piping. Alt was whining. Pass exhaust manifold has a bad crack in it between 2&4. Trans was replaced..... and although it shifted better than I expected, it didnt have a lock up converter in it. Engine bay needs a real good cleaning as well. Made about 10-12 psi max. Stock guage never even got close to the top, like on a good running stock truck. Had a the usual stumble at idle.

Guy was nice. I pointed out all these things just so he was aware/more informed. With the right TLC this, like many trucks can be made into a nice Ty. But with the asking price and needs it has, it would be a tough road. This is a broad run down, so if anyone is seriously interested and needs more info, get in touch.

Sportmachines was spot on with their assessment of this truck. I drove it today and gave him what I thought was a very reasonable offer and he declined. Very nice guy though. I think he's into this truck for a lot more than the asking price and isn't ready to take a loss on it. Can't say as I blame him. Truck has potential, but was lacking power, leaking most all of the fluids and had a lot of cosmetic dings, dents, scratches, cracks in the cladding (and an odd bracket on the passenger side A pillar???). After adding up all the repairs, the deal just didn't make sense for me.
