Re: 93 Typhoon Power seat with no Power

bump,

I still haven't fixed this. I went through every fuse to confirm they are all good. The two connections underneath the seat are fine. CM, do you know where the ground would be? The battery has a great ground (I ran an extra 2 gauge to the frame). I don't think its possible the seat motor and the lumbar support both went bad at the same time

Any thoughts?

thx

yeah, find that plug under the seat again and test the connections with a meter.

put the negative terminal on a ground/chassis/seat bolt, something other than the ground in the harness, then take the positive lead on the meter and go to whatever color wire isnt black (i forget what color its supposed to be, blue? yellow?). Whatever it is, you SHOULD get around 12 volts on the meter. If there is, then its a ground problem, trace the wire under the carpet and find where it ends, then fix the ground.

If there is no voltage at the plug, then it could still be fuse somewhere or a broken wire. again, trace the wires back under to the source and you should eventually find your problem.

The only reason I suggested the ground is because I had the ground fail on mine after my truck was stolen, but I simply just made a new ground and its been fine ever since.
