'98 Blazer 4x4 ft,rear disc to ty swap....

I found a '98 4x4 Blazer with rear disc at the junkyard. I want to swap rears and use the dual piston front brakes as well. That rear is 51" backing plate to plate, mine is 54" but all else seems the same; spring perch, frame rails, ect. I can cut the bump stop off the spring perch, and also then would have a rear sway to add too. Is this as straight forward as it looks? I need some verification please.

Also on the front dual piston calipers, I've read that I need the spindle and also use the lower control arm and snag the bigger sway bar plus endlinks. Will the '91 hub work on the '98 spindle? Looks like the same bolt pattern. I am also using the booster and M/C from it. I bought the steering box ($50) as it was 2 1/2 turns L2L in the vehicle (ZQ8?) but when I got home and removed the pitman, the shaft was turning 3 turns L2L, must have been an obstruction under the thing that I didn't notice. Anyway I can get everything else for $450. I have a nice LS1 ft set-up from a 02 camaro but don't have the $180 kit to install, and I like having the dust sheilds too for my daily driver. I'll let the LS1 (complete) go. Thanks for any information you can give me.

You will need the 2nd gen spindles and the 1st gen hub will bolt in just fine.

Thanks!! The lower arms will work too? I want to use the bigger sway bar which also has the end-link instead of the sliding end. I've read somewhere that this works well.

Yep, lower arms will work too.. Or you can just weld a mount for the sway bar to your current lower arms..

I'm running 2nd gen spindles with the dual piston calipers with 1st gen bearings. I also have a 2nd gen sway bar but I just welded mounts to my 1st gen LCAs.

Easiest way is to just grab the lower control arms from the newer truck and not have to fiddle with the welding. Get both upper and lower, then swap the bushings for a set of poly bushings before you put them in and that's even better.
