A Honda knew what a Ty was and still wanted some!

Cruising around town, I turn out onto the main street of West Side Knoxville. Cruising along, I usually check what is behind me to keep tabs on the whole road. I check this time and a Silver Honda coupe is gaining, fast. He blasts past me then slows down to match my speed.

Not quite sure as to what he wants from me, because he looks like a completely stock Honda. A quarter mile down the road, he goes by me and revs really loud as he passes me.

Alrighty.

I roll up next to him and ask him if he knows what this is. "V6 Turbo!" he responds. I was impressed. Until now, I had almost given up on anybody in my town, beside a select few, knowing what I had, let alone challenging me.

"Just step on it a little bit." A roll launch from about 30mph up to 55mph. Puts him about a car length behind me.

Drive on for another mile, before we hit a red light. A that red light I leaned over and talked to him. I said, "When you said V6 Turbo, you forgot All Wheel Drive". At this point I began boosting for the launch. Light turns green and I leave him in the dust, and run up to 50. Relax the throttle. Takes him a little while to catch back up.

We pull over in a Kroger parking lot. Get out and talk a little bit. Turns out, he almost bought a Syclone until his buddy with an SRT-4 talked him out of it almost scoffing a the thought of a quick truck. Guess I proved that guy wrong

Took him for a drive. As soon as I turn out, the light in front of us turns red. Perfect. pull up to the stop light and begin to boost. Light turns green, I launch. I somethin gfrom him, which might have been a "woah" trying to come out of his throat, but I think it got caught up somewhere between his vocal cords and his tongue.

Pulled back around to his little Honda. He is super impressed.

This post is not so much a killing of a vehicle but more of a destruction of a belief that trucks can't be quick.

Let the education spread like wildfire.

I have run into the same thing, some people will know what a SyTy is and underestimate how quick they are. Myslef was one of these people back when I was just out of high school. In 1992, my friend and I raced a Sy and underestimated what it could as well. (I am glad we ran into one because it got thinking about SyTy's) Just before Syclone came out, I thought the 454SS were cool idea and then I saw how slow they were and just figuired a Syclone would slightly quicker, but nothing special.
