A Pillar gauge pod

The instructions say to mount this over the stock a-pillar...who has installed these directly without going over the stock pod? Good idea, bad idea?

I got the one from LMC Truck, so I need to paint it as well. What is the paint code for our interior dash?

Re: A Pillar gauge pod

usually an a-pillar gauge pod replaces the factory a-pillar plastic trim.. the only ones i saw that were mounted onto the stock trim was universal 1, 2 or 3 gauge pods with a rectangle shape that fits about any application ..if you keep your factory trim under it you may not be able to get your wiring to your gauges and that means cutting into the factory trim.. my:2cents:

Re: A Pillar gauge pod

I was thinking that removing the stock one was the best idea, but I was checking for another opinion to justify not following instructions! :)

Anyone know the paint code so I can match it to the other A-Pillar?

Thanks
