ABS delete

Ok well after pulling the dash apart to find a short and clearing the codes it looks like my ABS unit really is at fault. 90% of the codes it pulls are for the unit/motors being bad. I have seen the ABS delete kits and was wondering if I could just convert it with stock parts. I have an 85 jimmy parts car with a good proportioning valve in it. Could I just take the lines and the valve from that and put it in my TY? I can't think of why it shouldn't work but I figure I would ask if anyone else has done it (I'm sure someone has).

Re: ABS delete

easier to just buy the kit & do it that way. I don't think it would even work. Just buy the kit.

Re: ABS delete

I don't know what's included in the kit, but I have an 88 Jimmy parts truck. My ABS has never worked in the Syclone since I got the truck, so I removed it all. I did not want to reuse the old lines from the Jimmy, so I just pulled them out and used them as a blue print to have new ones made for the Sy. I can get some pics if you wish.

I'd buy the kit from hood at tucker auto. most of the time you end up damaging the old parts trying to pull them. My time is also worth more than the time it takes to remove and possibly damage the old stuff. you will be glad you did.
