acceleration issue

Been working on my buddies syclone. Had the turbo gone threw and have done a tune up. Been having a periodic issue. Under hard acceleration the truck will basically what it feels like is shut off. Best way i can describe it. Let off the gas and accel again and its fine. Anyone else ever run into this issue? Truck is all stock.

Re: acceleration issue

Had this problem...truck would bog under throttle. (typhoon)

Check fuel pump. :2cents:

Re: acceleration issue

It could also be overboosting. You really should put a scan tool like data master on the truck to make it doesn't have detonation.

Re: acceleration issue

it could also be something as simple as fuel slosh on a mostly empty tank, starving the pump.

Re: acceleration issue

I was kinda thinking over boosting. Also thought about fuel slosh. But it does it weather the tank is under a 1/4 or over a half. Doesnt matter. Does it basically have a limiter as far as boost goes and shuts it down?

Re: acceleration issue

Hook a fuel pressure gauge to the rail... rout it to the cowl... masking tape it to the windshield and see if the fuel pressure drops when its happening

Re: acceleration issue

I found that one of the waste gate accuator hoses popped off. Will that cause that issue on hard accel?

Re: acceleration issue

Yes that will cause it to overboost. I would highly recommend replacing all the vacuum lines, especially since one of them is already questionable. Some venders sell silicon vacuum kits. Vacuum leak is an easy way to blow up the motor.

Re: acceleration issue

It works off pressure. All the vacuum lines are under pressure under boost unless it has a check valve.

Re: acceleration issue

Made a new temp. line to the waste gate accuator. That was the issue. Work perfect now. Gunna order a vacuum line kit and replace all the lines. Now i just gotta figure out the slight miss at idle
