Did you remove the fenderwell? You should be able to get at it with that removed.

Yeah its easy with the fenderwell out.

You don't even have to remove the wheel if you're careful enough.

Jack up pass side front of truck
I think they are 14 or 15mm bolts all along the inner fenderwell and a few in the front, one behind the shock tower and 2 in the battery tray. give or take a few.

Drop the back edge down low and wiggle the front edge. then kind of "roll" the ends together so it clears the cladding in front and back, and viola.

Just make small adjustments and test drive after each one.
Remember stock adjustment is "7/8 of the pin should show through the hole", and you should have to tug on the WG rod pretty good to get it back on the pin. That way it is snugly holding the WG closed.

Also your turbo and IC will like not having that fenderwell holding all the heat in, so if you don't drive in the weather consider leaving it out for awhile.

Yup that has been misunderstood by many, myself included.
Until you get down there and start Fn with it you wont really understand, but basically...

with the retainer off and the rod pulled off the WG pin,
Hold the WG closed and position the adj rod just in front of the pin,
looking through the hole in the WG adj rod you should see most (7/8 ) of the pin, but some light should be visible though the area towards the front of the truck.

This would mean to put the WG adj rod back on you'd have to pull it towards the rear of the truck and it would be very tightly holding the WG closed.

If you can just slide the WG adj rod on and off with little effort it is not tight enough.
