keep in mind that the front bumper/cover is combined into one fiber piece.

Good weight savings. However, im not sure if you can get just the cover?

Ok, ill prolly get flamed for this but, oh well...

I really want for someone to come out for a 4 door set of that cladding!!!
I know, im too damned cheap to go out and buy a syclone. But thats the only kit that I would like. Even if it wasn't for the typhoon or syclone, I would still want it, just because it looks sooo damn good.
Any word on a 4 door kit? I know someone mentioned it earlier...
Also, does the kit come with the front bumper and rear roll pan, or is that seperate?

Thanks
-Burns

Edit:---
If i was to get this kit, maybe i could get a liscense plate "FAKE TY" so people wouldn't try to race me. Well..in that case, if they were smart, they WOULD try to race me seeing that it's not a ty

I am going to make cladding out of Carbon Fiber but if this guy can do it, I'd rather do it with him. I want the carbon fiber to glimmer through and the Syclone and Typhoon emblem in the resin. Can he do it? How can I talk to him about it? I was looking forward to doing it since I going to be doing a lot of other stuff with carbon fiber as well but if he can do it at a good price, why reinvent the wheel plus my time is a little non-existent.

Thanx...

who said you needed to make the wheel??? make that sh!t fly!!! heheehee...
What else are you thinking of making??
Any interior parts?? dash?? door panels??
center console?? pillars??

Well, first thing would be a full tilt pre split front clip, but I'm not sure of what hood I want. A carbon fiber hard bed cover. A truck bed but that will be last on my list. It will be large and not very easy...as if any of it will.

Next will be a custom dash. I'm going to design it with nice speaker enclosures and a center channel. A nice place for a couple of monitors, and a CD/DVD changer and put a cool set of guages in it. I've seen some really cool stuff. Of course the console, door panels and pillars will have guage clusters and speaker enclosures as well. Over head console. I want a rear stage as well so something else will be designed. I will do the bass speaker box out of fiberglass most likely with a carbon fiber front fascia. All this will take a lot of work but that's what I'm all about. Heck after I get going, I'll be hard to stop. Maybe carbon A-arms, Intercooler scoop. I'm going to be making some cool intakes for our trucks out of aluminum and a matching tuned exhaust. I'm looking into making the upper plenmun out of carbon fiber and valve covers. I'm also going to be experiment with panels for under the truck to help with high speed stability. Lots of things...hopefully I don't die from all the fumes

All of this will complement the full tube chassis and suspension components as well. This with a maximum effort turbo or twin turbo engine with NO2 and splayed heads. And a way cool 4L80E. That should do it...I should be deep in the 12's easy... Ok, the secret is out...but I'm not the type to keep secrets about what I'm doing. I'll share everything I can so we have even more options for our forgotten stepchild of the GM world.

I'll keep people up to date. I already have a lot of the materials to do it all.

Take care...

what type of costs are we talking about.. molds.. materials.. time/labor... College loans are already creeping on me...hard bed cover sounds good.. flat like the snuglid?? or more of a hump like the Loryder lid??
Interior pieces sound good.. think the center console should flow up into/under the dash.. like 3000gt, C5, or supra... double din area.. for cd player and flip up screen, or double din player.. maybe a Tri gauge setup like 3000gt above heat vents.. would have to be shapely though (curves)... sounds good...

Hey thought I'd let you know that sean took his seats over to wedge engineering and that they should have a mount ready for my recaro sport seats in about a week or to... If you were considering switching out the stockers this might be a good solution... have to wait till I receive it though.. see how it all fits ... damn... that's a lot of work brian.... If you feel like making a double of some interior pieces let me know...

Hate to burst your bubble but there's a 1 in a million shot that what you're asking for would occur.. just trying to be honest w/ you since no one else seems to yet.. Main reason Brian's doing his project is because he owns a couple Sy's (what is it now 3?? 4?? 5??) ... and it could benefit others in the SyTy Community as well... Main reason that you'll never see 4 door cladding is because you can't just take a mold off of a set of typhoon cladding and then stick in on a longer 4 door.. you have to literally redesign/create each side.. out of clay or something similar.. then take a mold of that. to produce the cladding.. very expensive and time consuming to make on your own... Other reason Most people on the list wouldn't want this made is because then every/any guy who owns a 4 door blazer/jimmy could buy a set, slap it on his truck, and call it a typhoon...

Don't want to be the bad guy in this, but I sincerely doubt a 4 door set of cladding would get produced unless you created it yourself.. Maybe one day someone will however, I don't see it anytime soon...

No problem TYPHOONRIDER. Thanx for your support. You are right, I'll do this because it is both difficult and way cool plus it will help everybody. I have to think of what will come first. I was thinking the pre-split tilting front clip but that will depend on where I'm at on my motors. The door panels, center console, and pillars will be toward the top of the list. I'll have to get a more solid idea of what the dash will be like and how to make it so they will integrate into the stock dash for people that aren't going all out. The flush bed cover will be nice to have toward the beginning as well….hey is there anybody in Denver with desire to work on this and maybe help with the capital? Hey I know Dabney has a nice Typhoon without a dash board and might need one….hey how about it Dab?

Yes, it is going to take quite a bit of work. I'm even going to make custom faceplates for the Steinberger GL-T guitars. Those guitars rock! I have a good collection of them too. They are the Syclone and Typhoon's of the guitar world. Don't make them anymore, limited production, parts are scarce, no factory support and they absolutely shred. Sounds a little like our trucks here, doesn't it?

I'm looking for a smart reliable part time apprentice to help with all the transmissions and all the rest of the products. Finding someone here in Denver will be like pulling teeth. I just need to be freed up enough to dive in head first.

I'm buying a tricked out CAD system that you can make and test the parts before you make them. You can do flow testing, stress test, thermo testing. You can build it with a bunch of different materials and manufacturing processes and test for the best there too.

I will take a lot of time to design and fit the mock-ups. Everything in the interior will flow together like the newer cars, only better. I will take input from a lot of people and see about working in other good ideas. I don't have an estimate for as of yet. It will be priced reasonably as far as carbon fiber goes. I just need a good shop hand that wants to learn and won't turn into a pumpkin at midnight  This will help keep costs down. I want this stuff to be obtainable to SyTy owners without having to give an arm and a leg. I know how expensive these trucks are to maintain. I see people all the time needing help with their transmissions. I am flexible with them to help them as much as I can. Ask all my customers. I'm really accommodating to help people in a pinch. You'd be surprised. I get asked all the time why I do business like this and if I'm insane. The list members are good though.

I plan on sharing everything. I'm realistic and know what it will take to do it but I'm up for it. It will be fun. I will of course have to strip one of my trucks, heck I don't drive them much anyway. I wish I did.

Not sure how viable an option this is, but if you have an extra room & need that apprentice come early May through the end of August I might be available.. Is this or would it be a paid position?? I've got the time and initiative to learn fast.. Just Need to save money for Flight School & a (desperately needed) paint job over summer.. Haven't decided if I'm going to bartend on the train.. or work on the slope.. need to decide soon.. Always been interested to learn about our trucks and this seems like a great opportunity not just for experience in body work but definitely on trannys as well..
Let me know what you think Brian...

I just wanted chime in and say Brian Hartman is THE MAN. I for one sincerely appreciate all hard work he's done and continues to do. BH has been extremely helpful and available now that I started buildin my frankenstein tranny for the Sy.....

Just another ex of an OG Sy/Ty Guy whos still here, puttin up w/baseless BS attacks, and still willin help all those around him.

BH, I'm interested down the road in a lot of this stuff, esp. the CF bed, front end, and how about some CF doors, cab??

Also, why did you go Splayed heads as opposed to done up 18's?

Finally,I 100% concur w/BH's standpoint that this SECRETIVE BULLSH*T needs to STOP on the sy/ty List. I too am appalled at how I constantly ans Q's about my combo, but when I ask others on here (and they know who they are, I get this I can't tell you response. I guess I'm just gonna stop givin my combo out or raisin my hood at Nats.

Look at the Buicks. Those guys have tried every combo and SHARED and look how fast they've gone. We need do the same. For me, I don't care if I have fastest sy at this pt, I'm still in this game 4 yrs later b/c of the people and my fixation on turbo cars. I really enjoy the R& D portion of our sport. I wanna know an 18 deg bowtie will yield X ET w/X HP and TQ. Anybody feelin me?

Enough Ramblin, just wanna say:

THANKS BRAIN HARTMAN and keep up good work. Hope see you at Nats.

Secrets are for women! I plan to do glass and sell it cheap. Why? Because most of my friends show peice trucks started off as a $500.00 S-10 and an $800.00 Camero motor and to ask $1,800.00 for a kit when all comparable ground FX kits go for around $600.00 doesn't make any sence to me. Yeah, non of them look as good, but does that make it 3 times as valuable? Apparently not or we'd see more Tyclones then wouldn't we?

1. Original Design GMC Syclone Kit: $600.00
2. Custom Extended Cab Vrsion Sy: $700.00
3. Custom Long Bed Version Sy: $700.00
4. Original Design GMC Typhoon Kit: $600.00
5. Custom 4 Door Ty $700.00
6. Super Custom X-Cab + Long Bed Sy: $7500.00
&. Super Custom Tandem Rear Axle Sy: $800.00
9. Front Bumper Cover Alone: $150.00
10. Rear Rol Pan Alone *: $100.00
* (Add $50.00 for ZR1 or C5 light kit)

The only thing I will do differently is that the sides are 1 peice on the Ty and the bed will be 1 peice on the SY instead oseparate wheel arches. These prices DO NOT include shipping. Lead time is 3 months from date of order. 30 % deposite due at time of order. No, they are not ready for paint. They are rough glass and require prep work before prime and paint. Colors? Very good idea. I thought of it to. I hate when you get a rock chip in your air damn and this white fiberglass is showing from behind a black paint job. Resin is cheap to color and can be matched to any paint. I'd still paint it with the truck, but at least it will match if it ever chips. My goal is to out fit every '81-94 S-10 I can find with a kit and make the world a prettier place to live!
