Hey Gang, today I was cruising ebay and I found a lot of aftermarket door shells and front fenders for sell. These are suppossedly O.E.M. or better qaulity, in terms of materials, fit, and finish. They come primered black. All new. I need to new fenders and two new doors due to a lot of rust on the originals. The dealer wants an arm and a leg for new O.E.M. parts ; but these aftermarket parts are a bargain. Anyone...any thoughts or suggestions?
thanks,
jim

Re: aftermarket door shells and fenders

the take alot of work to make them fit properly, the metal is not as thick. But if you are on a budget they work

I'm looking to do the same. I have to replace both front fenders and inner fenders as well as the tailgate. I'm on a budget so I will make them work.

Re: aftermarket door shells and fenders

be aware of inflated shipping. they sometimes offer the products @ a discount then inflate the shipping. i can get you the fenders for about 35.00-40.00 ea and you pay actual shipping if interested....

Just make sure they are CAPA certified. Fit and finish will be pretty close to OEM.

Re: aftermarket door shells and fenders

I got a set of new CAPA certified fenders for $59 each from a local salvage yard.. They fit perfectly and the metal isn't noticably thinner than stock.. You may want to call the salvage yards in your area before you spend any money on shipping..

Okie what the heck is capa certified anyway. I am in Canada. Anyone know of any place up here that may have the body panels I am looking for. I want a good fit.
