Well, it is just a scoop that deflects more air up through the CCHE. As such, it only works at speed. Some people have had good results by mounting fans on small aux coolers that weren't even in the direct airflow path...

 WHATEVER YOU DO DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE BLADE OF DEATH. That is a piece of crap. You get it and figure you could have made if for less than half of what he charges. There is no thought into that "mod" get a good scoop one with sides that doesnt point strainght down. The only thing that blade of death is good for is scooping up road kill.

I sell one. I would have to say that the people on the list that have ordered one from me are pleased with it. It installs in less than ten minutes. This is a conservative number. The cost is $85.00. This includes shipping and handling. You can email me at saudisy2734@wi.rr.com for more information. I will send some pics once I receive your email. I am looking forward to talking to you. Your fellow Sy TY friend.

Aftermarket intercooler scoop

Aftermarket intercooler scoop

I ordered an intercooler scoop from Saudi Sy and just got it in. Very nice, good qaulity. I can't wait to install it as I do high speed highway driving. I just need to install the cche pump first or it wont do much good.

blade of death

1TiTeTy; Everyone is welcome to their opinion and the purpose of the forum is to share information. With that said. let me enlighten you a bit on the Blade of Death since I am the one who developed it. The cost is $45.00 for 316L stainless steel. It's then cut and punched. If you think that's expensive go get prices for 316L stainless steel and labor then let mek now how much you can make them for. Maybe I can buy them from you at a lower cost. Several others have attempted to make and sell IC scoops at higher cost and found it just was not worth the time and effort.

The performance improvements have been documented and it out performs the $150.00 Conley unit that has the sides like you mentioned. Bottom line, the Blade of Death works. It lowers IC temperture.

I have sold hundreds of these, and as with all my products, I guarantee customer satisfaction. If you are not 100% satisfied, just return it undamaged and I'll refund the $45.00. In approximately seven years of supplying these, I've only had two returned; One said it just wasn't what he thought he was ordering and the other was trying to fit it to an air-air IC which will not work.

P.S. If others want to see how the scoop looks and the "before and after" installation process, go to www.geocities.com/coach_reed.geo/skidplateblade.html

I'll have to give Jim prop's on this one. I have one on my Ty and for $45 you can't beat it. It's a thick heavy piece and can take a lick if you run over something with it. And I know Jim and his cost is probably pretty close to what he sells them for. He doesn't make a living doing this he just try's to help out other Sy/Ty'ers with quality and affordable products.

its a piece "blade of death" it looks better in the trash than it does on our trucks. thats where my $45 went in the trash. I bet no one returns them because they feel stupid. I thought "WTF I paid $45 for this? for this?" Those were the first words out of my mouth. As for development wow must have taken you months and months and months to get it right. I could make a cardboard cutout that looks like the BOD and then make myself the same thing in about 45 mins. You know how I know that because my buddy and I did that (just for shits and giggles). I wish I had looked it over more carefully before I threw away that $45. No hard feelings here I have a much better IC scoop now. And I wasnt describing the Conely IC scoop I have one from the NWSTP and it works great. The price is what attracts people. Guess you get what you pay for.

wow is this a waste of space! Why don't we put this energy into something useful? You cannot please everyone, however i feel that after "YOU" personally make something it feels kinda good. Like you accomplished something. Where is your contribution? Not trying to flame but i am sure he worked hard on trying to make something useful. If you don't like it thats cool but give him credit for taking his time to build something.

1Titety,

I think you made your point quite clear in your first post YOU DON'T LIKE IT so what?? Jim already told ya, if you dont like it SEND IT BACK and stop posting stupid shit. At least Jim is doing something good for the syty communtiy. On the other hand your doing NOTHING but bashing what a fellow sytyer is doing for the good of the community. Like 92 black typhoon said, use your energy into something USEFUL.

Take care!

If $45 is the only money you feel was wasted doing an improvement you're doing good IMO. I just spent more than that on junkyard under hood braces for my GN, not that it was a waste, but felt I was ripped off pricewise, but I was pushed for time to get some here. Everybody has their own opinions as to what they like , that's fine. How long have you had your truck? Must not be very long or you'd see more of the benefit of having people around who love these trucks enough to tray to innovate new things for them. A lot of stock parts are already discontinued, soon the only way to get certain items will be from folks who make aftermarket, if at all. You know you coulda went to office depot, got a $5 trashcan and made your own scoop.

I like mine im just selling it due to gonig to air to air, if it wasnt for that id keep it, and to try and reproduce it the metal alone was 32.00 for a piece big enough and I have no way to bend the stainless I just wish there was a easier way to polish it Ken

Couldn't agree more. Jim has been around a long time, and one of the few people that has always given back to our SyTy community.

No problem parts man. Sorry about the price being $85.00(shipping included) but I am not really making any money on this. The guy who makes them for me is not cheap. I wish I could offer them at a lower price but I can't. Sorry Guys.
