Can someone please make this a "Sticky"

Boy there's a surprise Merk coming to the aid of yet another shady vendor, makes me wonder even more about you...maybe I just don't get the whole Sticky tag...if it's the truth why does it have to be sticky? Maybe it can be tagged "Truth" or "Downpipe Bitchslap" or "Owned" You should go enjoy your original windsheild wipers in the zip lock bags and leave the real SYTY issues to others who deal in reality...enough time wasted on you...you guys should definitely get together and look into getting a class action suit against him, the issue you will run into is that he did most of his business across state lines, and while this shouldn't really matter it does legally. Anyway, I feel for you PROTOSY as well as everyone else out there who has been ripped by any vendor, if it makes you feel any better I've been hosed for more $$$$ than anyone I've found yet in SYTY land...my case will end very soon and yet another vendor will exposed for what they are...and for anyone who defends these guys should be seen/exposed for what they are...you reap what you sow, the truth will be told!!!!

I thought sticky was just to make the post stay at the top, I dont understand what you ment about merk, unless it has to do with something else.

Ran across this on the Subaru boards.
Looks like he is into WRXs now.
Shut down the old business and operatinig under a new one.

I didnt get ripped off per say, I just had to wait an ungodly amount of time for my parts.
I can also attest to the poor communication and empty promises.

Surely there are some guys that never got the rest of their kits.
I heard some were filing grievances with their credit card companies, but there is a time limit also that made it difficult.

It appears that some kind soul has warned the Subaru guys.Bravo!! ::brews::

I am still missing about $50 worth of hardware, basically all of the tie rod hardware and few mounting bolts for the suspension. Nothing all that big but just PIA to track down all the parts.

as far as i can remember Al was LLC (limited liability coporation) meaning that the owner cannot be sued, only the buisness, for its assets and such if Al has terminated buisness and done it properly there is a slim to nil chance od recovering any monies lost. But if al was a DBA (doing buisness as) you could sue the original company for the monies lost, somebody should contact the city where the buisness is based.

I was very ticked when I got ripped off by someone on another board [non syty] for a turbo. That was $100-150.

I can't imagine how you have not called the attorney general on this matter. The news media kills for stories like these when a local business screws over numerous people and one way or another, remains in business. He is obviously crooked, with enough proof to justify any sort of action you can take. Especially now that he apparently has a hand in Buzz Off [or should we say, Screw Off?] on maple road, i pass this place daily in my commutes. Until now, I didn't know the story behind the place until now, but i guess we know how they paid for the various WRXs there and what looked to be a body dropped or bagged Lexus sedan with a very expensive paint job and 20s on it that sat out front not long ago!

I would seriously contact the attorney general and the news media. They can't survive without business. Someone should contact Fox 2, Channel 7, or Channel 4 and get them to do a small piece on this Screw Off business.

If anyone needs some help or has any questions, feel free to ask. Get your receipts, emails, phone records, bills together and go to town on this.

Also, don't deal with Auto Europe in birmingham, they are morons and they screwed my car up, and had it for a few months and did not even fix the problem until i told them what it was, and i still ended up paying for their bullshit ~$500!

from what i understand, if you can prove the person set out to defraud a customer they cannot hide behind an llc. i liken this to the mci worldcom or enron types of situations where the govt is going after _the people_ that commited the fraud (obviously those cases are much much larger).

basically you cannot kill someone (or any other criminal act) in the name of a corporation and hide behind its protection.

Just b/c you have a LLC doesnt mean you are invinceable to being personally held liable. You have to run the business properly, and it is clear Al did not. Your lawyer should be able to tear him apart. I'm still trying to figure out how nobody has paid him a visit.

i seriously should not have read that post over there. i just got more pissed off to see people defending somebody who has stolen a ton of money from me.

but then again, i am sure they probably feel the same way as i did at one point. they probably have given him money and are waiting on parts, tracking numbers, etc, just as i was, and are now realizing how bad they are going to get screwed when the ball finally drops and al disappears again.

the only thing that brings me peace is knowing that one day, hopefully sooner than later, i will get my justice. i hope that i can bring some closure to this for a few other people as well.
