Alarm/remote start

I am looking to install a alarm/remote start in my 2002 chevy tahoe z71. Would like to know what brand people recommend that wouldnt be to hard to install and that will work without any issues. I have used Viper/DEI and python a few times in the past and thought they were great but thought i ask before i buy one.

Let me know what people are using.

Thanks

Re: Alarm/remote start

I bought a bulldog remote starter/alarm for my Typhoon. Not the best name brand out there but it works great, it was cheap, and installation was easy. I couldn't justify the extra couple hundred for a name brand unit that did the same stuff.

My girlfriend has a Python unit that cost 3x as much in her grand prix and it doesn't work any better than my "cheaper" one. Check out www.bulldogsecurity.com. Just an idea, I'm happy with mine for the price!

compustar 2way spread spectrum, as it goes over a mile,I have sold these to a few board members and have put in about 300 of these units, they also have a built in turbo timer

Re: Alarm/remote start

I love my Compustar and my Clifford isn't too bad either. The Compustar remote is much easier to use valet mode over the Clifford. you'll love the Bingo song it plays when you change out the battery.................:rotf:

I second this.. I used a $50 Bulldog setup for years and never had an issue..

I forgot to mention the built in turbo timer on the Compustar... Well worth it IMO

Re: Alarm/remote start

bulldog products are garbage

As an alarm... Maybe? As a remote starter can't beat it for the price. Mine starts my truck up everytime. Probably wouldn't have bought it, but it I got it as a gift and I don't have any complaints so far.. Functional and a great price, maybe not the best out there but good for the money.
