yup, they were warped, thats why campbell passed on them. so i bought them and had them sanded flat, and am in the middle of modding them to mount the turbo toward the headlight and away from the motor.

need that for tight turns where it meets up with the xover pipe. I have the motor in the truck now so i'll get back to working on them soon...but wasn't sure how everything fit in regards to the shock towers since i was initially building them off the truck.

well more progress made, got the engine bay about scrubbed out.just the nastiness under the oil filter location to scrub and scrape. good grief the old engine had more leaks than the exxon tanker. and those factory front driveshafts make a mess when they shatter. i'm thinking about relocating my oil filter to the frame rail under the drivers door but i wonder how to remove the cooler in the radiator from the loop. and if i ditch my charcoal canister what is the best way to deal w/ the vent line from the fuel tank?

also got my front brakelines installed from my abs delete. and i gotta say they are pretty well on point. Thanks you Mr. Hood for that. pulled the harness for my front wheel speed sensors and got the stock steering shaft out to make way for the shaft i got from supersports10. gotta say its a nice clean looking part but i do got to clean some slag out of one of the holes for fitment.

for you guys doing the same swap i found what looks like a good solution for the turbo oil return line. i ordered from summit a -10 bulkhead fitting and a 90 degree an to push on barbed to go with it. i'll put up installed pics when it gets here.

We should have a race to see who can start theirs first. I wish I had the money to make mine look and perform as well as yours will though. Good luck with everything I hope to see it sometime if we ever get some type of texas meet to happen.

well the looks are gonna fall short till i can get back to missouri to paint it. i've spent two years preparing for this and it'll probably be a couple more months till it fires

how i spent the last couple days

PHOT0003-1.jpg

PHOT0013.jpg

PHOT0015-1.jpg

finished cleaning up the engine bay, got my steering shaft fitted up, finished my abs delete, blacked out the frame, polished that part of my intake and installed my oil return fitting for my turbo.

everytime i get something done i think of something else to do. if i wasn't scraping to buy a bigger turbo, i want to get coilovers w/ control arms but i guess that will wait. i keep wishing i had a garage and a rotisserie, so i could do a frame off but oh well.

today -- got the rest of my valvetrain installed and test fitted my stock valve covers to see if i need sheetmetal ones from rpm or the new gp thread started. looks like they will work but the baffles gotta come out, so i guess if the gp is priced right and they look good that might be the way i go. installed the modified 4x4 oil pan and pick up. kinda wish the name project that never end hadn't been taken. looking at the prices of the good stuff for a v8 makes me think i might end up with a v8 in here sometime.

Re: almost there for now -- update *adding Pictures* busy day 4/3

today was a busy busy day. windshield guy came and resealed my leaky windshield. got the front carpet section out. stopped on the interior so i can make space to store the headliner since i got new carpet and a 100^2 ft of lightweight sound dampner to put in. and the biggy item, the new long block is bolted in. i ran out of time but got the bellhousing bolted up and the motormounts bolted down. tommorrow the headers and steering shaft go in and maybe start wiring and the lower intake.

another busy day. gotta give props to all you guys that build down pipes. i had to rebuild mine since the headers move the turbo, what a pain. so far the steering shaft is installed, the headers are installed which required a slight adjustment to the crossover for clearence w/ a 2lb hammer. turbo is in place, downpipe has been resectioned and is just 6" short of the exhaust. time for accessories and intake.

Re: almost there for now -- update *adding Pictures* busy day 4/5

well it's been a busy few days. i've decided to put a dvd system in the truck and a moderate stereo system to go with it. i spend so much time in the truck it makes sense to me. i am also remote mounting twin optimas to power it and the truck. i got a sweet optima battery mount and need to get a second. i gutted the entire inside of the tuck to sound mat it and run wire. if you've never done this before you wouldn't believe the pile of pieces it makes. i ran 3 20ft rca, 100 foot of speaker and a 100 ft or so of speaker wire. all this is to support a soundstream 8004 dvd HU, mtx 1501d, mtx 404, a lanzar signal processor, a kicker 15 L7, and for the moment audiobaghn 6.5 components and fosgate 6x9s. i got plans to build a removable fiberglass box on the passanger side of the truck and a removable amp rack on the passanger side. also in the plans is a custom hu mount, i'm gonna ditch the center vents to make gauge mounts and glass the single din headunit in the 1 1/2 din hole. the ash tray is leaving so i can extend the radio mount down for a switch panel for a fan over ride, neon highlights, a fuel pump switch, and maybe a spray switch. yes i know this all adds wieght, but i tried to cut the weight in everything i used. i went from two audiobaghn 12" high excursions to the single 15, the sound mat i bought weights 23lbs for 100^2 feet. i'm also trying to pull weight from other areas to make up for it. full a/c delete, stock fan is gone, abs delete and eventually the seats are going to be switched to lighter ones. i've got to say the back seat is lighter than i thought. next week i'm hoping to get the 17" wheels i bought from MRKING, a big thanks to him for that deal. i'm also tryin to save up for one of erue's bs roller cams. all said and done i think this will make the truck more enjoyable to drive since it's my dd. i also got a killer deal on some new 3/4 heater hose buying it in a 50ft roll. i'll share what's left over for 50 cents a foot for anyone that needs any, since the parts store told me 1.10 a ft. unfortunatly i have to go back to work in the morning so that's gonna put a real crimp in my plans. i have to see my surgeon again and am going to request a radial reduction to remove the stump of my middle finger from my left hand. so i'll be laid up again for another month or so. but i won't be working and it should help get rid of a lot of the pain in my hand.

Re: almost there for now -- update *adding Pictures* busy day 4/5

i also extended my fast wiring harness 6ft so i can locate my computer in the center console for easier access. hopefully this weekend the rest of the interior gets in and i can get the rest of the top end installed. if i can find enough time and motivation by next week i'll just be waiting on a starter.
