Looks nice, are you going to have nuts welded on the bottom to bolt the ignition coil on or go with thicker material so that it can be tapped? That stock ignition coil location is a PITA to mess with since the bolts are buried.

i was planning on welding nuts to the underside, much like the stock bracket

any installed pics?
i just bent it this morning, and it's lacking nuts to bolt the coil down. so NO, no installed pics yet.

Maybe this weekend if i can salvage some time to do it.

well it'd most likely be an alum bar w/ 2 threaded holes being welded to the underside of the bracket.

$$$....aiming for the $40 neighborhood.

OK Mike,

Its time to come clean on this one, as I have waited for someone else to ask and noone has so.......
With all this aluminum stuff you are making. Is this an all out effort to make the lightest truck? As in

http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=16677&highlight=Lighten+Syclone

Where is the aluminum steering shaft at in the pipe line?
i just like things that don't get rusty personally. So i figured other people would like some also, so i just make a bunch of stuff i want. :) I started a new company to handle sales of the stuff...just haven't gone 'public' with it yet, becuase i want to have a nice catalog of parts to offer.

Alum steering shaft won't happen...it'd too soft of a metal to handle all that torque. You can already get stainless borgeson ones too

And the lightness isn't a super factor...i have a digital scale to compare everything...and i'll share all the results once i have the finalized products vs. stockers

why not use a nutsert (sp?) instead of welding a threaded bung on? basically they are a threaded rivet which gets punched into the metal.
