and the hot rod pump gas winner is...

I'll give you a little inside hint who's probably gonna win this thing. talked to a buddy of mine who is tuning it for street gas. dave henninger helped me when i broke the record for the fastest syclone last spring and told me what he is taking to the competition.

it's a old dadge charger. 68 or 69. 540 inch hemi with twin turbos. they spent last week tuning it for pump gas and it was running 9.20's. the guy who owns it drives it everyday on the street. what would that be... mid to low 8's on race gas with more boost? they're thinking it should make a real strong showing and also that it will go faster. they're working on that tomorrow.

anybody going to go to memphis and watch this thing? wish i had the time but i'm busy trying to get my new motor done. it's not gonna go anywhere near this fast but i'm hoping for low 10's on pump gas and it will be street driven all the time. should make about 750 to 800 horsepower if i want it to. it's all in the chassis now...

I am going to memphis. 2 of my friends are in the race. One has a 555 buick regal and the other friend has a 572 Hemi Charger ('68 or '69). They are both from Pittsburgh and we are leaving on wed. should be a fun time (expect for the drive).

You BETTER hope you can go at least low 10's or my little black truck might embarass that orange car so bad it will turn red at Bristol!

Let's see - installed the new turbo, found the boost control problem........ maybe you better shoot for 9's :D

Oh, one other thing - you need to keep Henniger out of this. I'll take care of your tune for you

henninger made me this really cool little device... here's how it works. i gave him the serial number of a certain fast system and he made me a remote tuning box! i can adjust fuel ratios, timing, hell... even boost with it! don't need to hook up a computer or nothin. just turn it on, tune it in, and tune away. i can now tune ANYONES car... or truck... anyway i want. i guess if i wanted to i could even make it go slower if i needed to :) he was thinking he might come to someplace like bristol and we'd see how it works. sure hope i don't turn the boost up to 50 and run a 20:1 fuel ratio on someones motor. i guess oliver rods will take that though wouldn't they?

can't wait to show you how it works. i've been practicing doin it while i shift gears... it's called the 74GTQ supressor and has a special toggle switch for use on lil black trucks.

just remember... i know what you got, but you don't know what i got! and besides i have unlimited money to throw at mine, where you're just about tapped out in your "money pit" race team.

(time for head games)... "hey mark... did i mention to you that i adjusted the valves before i gave it to you and was just thinking... i can't remember if i used the right feeler guage. you better rip those valve covers off and check to see if i screwed up or not. damn... really sorry about that. also.. i just saw the empty cans i topped off that rossler trans with. does it matter if you mix red line racing atf with power steering fluid..."

another big question with yours is if the driver has big enough onions to ride out all the squirmness that thing has over 120. you have tried taking it to 120 haven't you and experienced how you can't keep it going straight haven't you? you might try that this weekend if you haven'. as i remember there is a straight patchof road up the street from your house you could try that with. give it a few passes at 120 plusthis weekend and that way you'll be used to it. you know... that spot up the street... right in front of where that sherriff parks his car next to his house. 8)

Hey - I've still got credit cards. They wouldn't give them to me if I wasn't supposed to use them, right?

As far as going faster than 120, I think there is a chance that I will be beating you so bad by the end of the quarter mile I won't even need to worry about topping 120, I might be able to just coast through the traps :p

I'm sure you are asking yourself "how fast is that thing now that he has a new turbo and WG???". You better go back to Summit and see what else you can buy!!!

you're just jealous cause i got more horsepower than you. and by the way... you know awd is only an advantage on the street. and my drag tires don't got any of those silly tread things on em. and another thing  awd eats up 30% power on a dyno... mine only loses about 15 :D so you got 750 minus 225 so you really only got 525. my 750 is more like 635  so who do you think better study the summit catalog now???????? maybe you can figure out how to glue a couple of extra cylinders on.

besides... i have dave and everyone at wheel to wheel... all you got is a crew chief named todd and a team manager named vanessa that won't let you have any more money...

this is gonna be good. gettin :2gunfire: by an antique. how you EVER gonna live it down. I'll have the blue Z at indy in june if'n ya wanna try that one? My backs botherin me so i'll just have henninger drive it for me.. but it is mine. really...it is... and that one only has 6 holes in it like yours. does have an extra hairdryer thingee but i don't really think those things help much
