Its very ironic that the big dispute about the SRT-10 Truck and a stock Syclone has been brought up. The 2008 Power Tour made a stop in Rochester MN last Thursday night. There was an ass ton of street racing going on until about 11pm. I just got off of work and ran home and got the Sy out and ran back into town. Wouldn’t you know it as I went past a Mexican restraint a black SRT-10 truck pulled out right next to me. We went down the road side by side some for a bit and then we hit a light. I motioned the guy to go for it and he did. That truck sounded really, really mean. I still pulled three car lengths on him off the line and pulled another car on him by the time I shut down.
I ended up pulling over with him at a gas station. He was a really cool guy from Texas. He was very impressed with the Syclone and new them very well. He mentioned he had not seen one of them in about 10 years. We talked for about an hour and I told him I could take him for a ride. He jumped at the chance and he got in. He video taped the whole thing. I then slowed down to show him a boost launch. He ended up hitting himself in the face with his video camera and was crapping his pants the whole run. He said I would pull on his truck no matter if it was from a roll or a stop. I dropped him back off at his truck, and all he could talk about was how fast the Syclone was to his friend.
I did get him to pop his hood and he had a full exhaust with custom headers and a chip. He said he dynoed 461 hp at the wheels.

Just so you know I’m not full of BS I got a walk around vid of his truck. Its pretty hard to video and drive at the same time so I did not get any of the race.

I did get a video of something that will make your jaw drop. The 2008 power tour left behind something for Rochester on a public road ;)

nice kill. That road isn't pinstripped, it's painted!!!. Damn would have been fun to been there to see that all go down.

I know I just about started laughing out loud when he pulled up next to me. TYTILIDIE's video was running through my head. I would have to say that if I had gotten video of the race it would have looked very simillar to his vid.
The guy that owned the SRT-10 also said off the line sucks because there is a traction control system that pulls out timing. That sucks!

:rotf: Now keep in mind I was a good 5-6 cars out on that guy AND I let him go first. Damn good kill man, nice to see SYTY's layin the smack down!!!

Shiiiiiiittttt..... The one I raced was modded. JK Im sure you are faster anyways.

Mine was too but I think it was lame stuff like CAI, and maybe a chip. He said three things but I don't remember what they were, I do remember thinking that they were cheap easy mods.

i would take on a lightning way before a srt10 personally. easier way to win money

i was just being a smart a**. i love how ppl are like well mine is fast and like a prime example with the lightning. when syty's and lightning's were brand new, the lightning was a jk and a spec of dirt in our mirrors. i will give credit to the lightning for what it is but performance wise no. compare numbers not impressive when lookin at yrs.

I talked to my neighbor and he was down at the power tour and he said there was a white Typhoon on the tour. Anyone know who that was? I really wish I could have talked to the guy. I have yet to meet a sy ty owner face to face.

Nice kill. They stopped making the SRT-10 in 06. His is an 06 judging by the markings. There is no traction control on the SRT's. Sounds like that guy just needs a flash to take out the TRQ management. I still would like to see a stock RC go against a stock SY/TY.

But at the End of the day You just own a Lightning :rotf: an i'm sorry when i pull up tpo the stripclub or anyclub and hop out and the guy insist on mer parking it up front so he can keep an eye on it... that and the woman :tup: just puts a smile to my face

A video of a lightly modded Ty absolutely decimating a modded SRT-10 and another story of a Sy with a chip and exhaust doing the same. God, that must really bother you SERT guys. That SRT-10 got RAPED! Post up some vids of you guys stomping SyTys. If your trucks really are that much faster, you must have lots of kill footage.

But I guess you can always comfort yourselves by repeating the mantra ?Well, our trucks are faster in stock form then yours?. Good job. That matters to maybe the 5% of this board that have stock trucks. I doubt many of them race anyway. But if they did, I?d still bet gas money that most of them would stomp your ass on the street from a dig. But don?t take it too hard. Your truck is faster stock vs. stock. Just tell that to the guy driving the SyTy when you roll up after him at the next light.

LOL. Maybe, but I played nice for a couple of weeks while these guys trolled our forum.

I've seen first hand what a near stock Sy (mine) will do from a dig to a 500rwhp 3800lb car (my buddy's 11-second Terminator with pulley, exhaust and dyno tune) running street tires. And I am supposed to be impressed with the same power/torque in a 5100lb package? You may be quicker than my Sy on a quarter mile track slathered in VHT but unless you bring drag radials and a perfect launch, you aren't going to reproduce those results against me on the street.
