so is someone selling the usb adaptors? I tried a usb adaptor before but it did not work at all for me. If you are still working on designing a usb cable i am interested in one of them.

Ok guys, I don't have any USB adapters. These are available through Craig Moates at www.moates.net

He makes a very good product.

As for other cables. I know E-RUE at TurboTime has some cables available. They are the RS232 Serial adapters, NOT USB. I should have another run coming soon, but as of right now, I'm sold out.

Thanks to everyone that ordered one and I hope they work well for you.

Just put me on your list and tell me when and where to send the money! Any idea how long till the next run?
Thanks!

I have parts for another 20 coming in by next week (would be earlier, but for the holiday week)

I'll post back when they are built.

Dan--
I'm in for an adapter and cable. I will probably use it as an excuse to come up from Tucson to see you guys again. Maybe get a DM run in while I'm there since I don't have the software yet. Had fun at the last pavillions thing.

On a side note. I work in PCB fab. SMT and THT printed circuit card design and manufacturing. The chances of me making a printed circuit board and populating it with SMT parts is pretty slim, but I could design a multi-layer board on P-CAD (then you could send it out to a board house) to slim down the size of the adapter a little bit. Just a thought I guess. I can also conformally coat these boards so that they are resistant to moisture (much like marine radios). In all honesty since TTS doesn't make the adapter anymore, I could copy the board they use so it fits in that little adapter. The problem is that hand soldering SMT components like that is a bit time consuming. Let me know if I can help at all. It seems that you are doing everyone a great service and I would like to help if that is possible.

Well, I actually already have an SMT board designed and I have 20 of them at my house. However, there was one mistake in the traces that I CAN fix....but we'll see. With a small jumper wire, it worked perfectly with DM. The size......about 1"x1.5". Time isn't an issue. I did fine pitch SMT soldering for about 10 years. I can knock these out in just a few minutes per board.

I haven't put a huge priority on it just because the others work and work well. In the next few runs, I might be switching to this design.

Ever thought about going double sided? Use half ounce copper with a thin trace since the signal doesn't carry a great deal of amperage and you could shrink that puppy down to something tiny. Added cost for drilled vias and the lot, but would really make that a small signal filter.

it is double sided. You can see the via points at various locations. I just didn't post the second half.

How small do you want to get?

I do believe I posted in the PM that I sent out notifying that your cable is ready that the instructions were on the site: http://www.danhanisch.com

Sorry if I didn't point that out before.

R U still selling these? Your PM space is full and you don't want e-mail.

Please suggest how to communicate privatly.

Sorry, I just cleaned those out. Ironically, I have one for sale, it's already pending a sale though...

I am making another 20 currently and will have them available soon. (I just ordered the circuit boards this morning and they should be here by Thursday)

I'll post back when ready.

Thanks for the interest.
