Good thing the hood was there to protect against the shrapnel. I initially thought it was a broken solid motor mount that caused the alternator to hit the hood, but it's intact. Weird.

That's got to be enough to scare the hell out of you!

I've had a alternator lock up which ended up breaking the fan and tensioner.

I thought i was all alone. I once did that on the frwy coming home from RPM; heard a noise/screech, saw light flickering and then massive sparks. Was pretty cool imo
