Do we get a handicap if we enter the burnout competition?

I'll be attending both Nats X and S-series Nationals......I think everyone else should as well. Two VERY different crowds, but equal amounts of fun at both.

syty is like the major leagues
s-series if like the minor leagues

ROFL....Something like that.

The price of admission into the respective crowd was significantly different until just the past 2-3 years. That changes the age group of the owners, as well as the maturity level of the group as a whole. I've found there are only a handfull of people that interact well between the two groups, and I'm not sure why that is.

The s-series crowd is kinda like a group of college kids.
The Sy/Ty crowd is more like a group of professionals.

These are rough groupings, and as always exceptions are sure to occur. Also they are my observations, so don't get bent out of shape (if you think they are wrong) at anyone but me.

i've never been to an s-series nationals event.. i've been to s-series meets and while it is a mixed group it is usually a younger group.

syty's are always a mixed group of young and old.

The S10 grous are younger and more immature becuase....
The value of a 1992 GMC S15 Jimmy in fair condition is $1,500.
The value of a 1992 GMC S15 Jimmy Typhoon in fair condition is $10,600.

How many young kids do you know that can afford a SyTy or keep up with the maintenance? Any are 4cyl trucks and the big wheel, air bag, lowrider crowds. BUT there are alot of AWESOME trucks and AWESOME people at both. If you want to see custom stuff, goto S-Series nationals. If you wanna see alot of the same trucks, goto SyTy Nationals.

S-Series Nationals is like the week after the Hot Rod Power Tour which i really want to take my Tyclone on this year!

There's probably about 25 percent of the people there over 30... ya there's groups of partyers, just like anywhere else...

Just because I drive a vehicle which doesn't "bluebook" as high as a sy or ty doesn't mean I don't respect what it is... and I can guarantee 99.5% of the people there have that mentality......

of course.. we completely understand that.. there is nothing wrong with either crowd and neither is better than the other..

Kinda what I was getting at. Both are a great group of guys, and I consider members of both to be good friends. However after attending both last year, there is a noticable difference between them.

My best answer is to suggest you show up to both events, and evaluatue for yourself. I promise at the end of summer you will look back, and not regret spending the time, money, or effort to attend either show.
