Been a long, long time since I've posted here.

I dunno if any of you remember me, but whether you do or not, I'm moving to Anchorage to attend UAA this fall, and one of the things I wanted to do was meet up with all you syty people, since I still lust after one.

If you feel like putting up with a college student that's too broke to own a syty, drop me a line: deftones83@lowrider.com.

Thank you!

Hey dude, I'm in pretty much the same boat as you. Too broke to buy a SyTy. There's a Red/Grey '93 Ty for sale in Anchorage if you think you could afford it...

Naw, I gotta wait until after college and have a job that can support one. Right now I'm driving a '91 GSX. Nice, but no SyTy.

We'll have to hook up when I get to Anchorage.

Hon's old white 93 Typhoon is for sale as well... has about 100,000 miles on it from what I recall.. asking price is $12,000 .. I think you could pick it up for $10,000 though... last owner was using platinum plugs..

I tried to warn him....

I wouldn't mind meeting up sometime later in the summer.. right now my truck isn't much to look at... it needs a paint job very bad... previous owner painted over the rust...

I have a cracked winshield but I can't replace it without work to the body because of the rust...

still need to save $4000-5000 for that... luckily I only owe $4000 left on the truck... next summer will come the mods... or maybe a new engine...

I'm lookin to meet up with some fellow AK sytyers too. I just got home from Montana Friday night; if anyone's ever thinking about driving there syty up the Alaska Highway I STRONGLY encourage you rethink it and look into therapy. The 'ol phooner bottomed out no less than 15 times and I hit my bump stops about 30, but all in all there was only about $40 in damage (lost a center cap for my right rear wheel.)
My buddy's getting an 02 L at the end of the month, and there's still some bugs I have to work out of the Ty. I'd like to meet up with some owners that have a pretty good feeling what a healthy Ty should run like. If anybody's interested drop me an e-mail at Jason10118@aol.com...

Hey Jason, I saw your Ty this evening at Call's. That's a very handsome truck you have. I like the plates ;). Why's the tailgate de-badged?
Calls knows their stuff. Troy Call once told me that they wouldn't work on Merkurs. That at least means that they know what to avoid.

Yeah, last night I blew my front propshaft on the loop road. That sucked. I like the smoothness of a debadged Ty so I took off all my stickers...depending on what rims I get (holding out for Z06'ers) I might get some color matched decals to go on my doors but that's about it. Call's has no love for the Merkurs huh? that sucks.

Hey guys - guess we're late getting in on the conversation :) We have the truck up and running, but can't connect the datamaster. The program is running fine, but won't contact to the ECM. Couple of codes there and some lights stuck in the on position, but she's running stronger than ever. Paint needs a good buffing though. The shop was going to wait until showing, but that didn't happen due to ... stuff

Email us at typhoon@gci.net once you're up. It'd be fun to try get together. Think we're planning on heading out to the track this weekend (just to watch).

Hopefully my truck will be running by the beginning of next week...the wrong prop shaft was ordered. Get this...a prop shaft from the dealer costs nearly $1800  . Good thing it's warranty work. Once I get that rolling I need to work on my IC, I think I hotwired it wrong because it no workee. It's a must that I get it cookin 100% by the time my buddy gets his new lightning, he still doesn't fully respect sytys...I guess he'll have to learn the hard way.
Nikki and Pete-
I've never been out to the Alaska Speedway...how is it? Better question, where is it? Palmer or Wasilla?

The drag strip is on the Palmer alternate highway. Take it before the Knik bridges and I think it's at mile 10 or close to it. Tim has come out that way with us before. The dragster's for sure will be running this weekend, as they have the Tony Prokish Memorial Races and the family owns one or two of them. There should be a link on our (non updated ;) )web page.

Drop us a line and let us know what your plans are.

Hey Pete and Nicki! Long, long time, no talk.

I'm not going to be up until late August, but I just wanted to make some connections before then.
