Automatic Door Lock Dilema

I've got a '93 Ty with the Keyless entry, and the doors insist on locking automatically. it even locks me out on occasion when I'm working under the hood. Truck does not have to be moving or even running (but the ignition has to be on) when this happens. I can't figure out how to stop this very annoying habit , short of ripping the keyless entry module out by its geezel pipe. Anyone run into this problem before?

Re: Automatic Door Lock Dilema

its supposed to be a safety feature. you can trace the wires to see which one's doing it out the relay and cut it or put a key to unlock the door in your wallet for the time you accidentally lock your keys in the door.

Re: Automatic Door Lock Dilema

Success:rotf:!!!! Dave, I found a microswitch buried in the underdash storage area. It was part of an alarm system long unused alarm system I didn't know I had. I found the control module (a very old Alpine unit that I couldn't get any information on) stuffed up next to the steering column near the fuse panel. Needless to say "it ain't there no more". Problem solved!! Thanks for the clues.
