Barett Jackson is coming to West Palm Beach. I live in West Palm Beach and i was thinking about putting my 93 typhoon in the auction. Do u guys think this is a good idea, if so what should it set the reserve at?

Re: Barett Jackson

Probably not a good idea, as they usually wont do a reserve car and they like unmolested origanals with low miles and lots of documentation. I don't think you will get what you would want for it, and it would be best to go on at prime time for the best money which they probably wont do as it is not a REALLY desireable vehicle. sorry to disapiont..... :2cents:

All depends what you really want to do. You can have your ty on Barrett, and sell it. You have to remember say just for even numbers you get $20,000.00 for it. Now you have sellers fees,I believe they are 10%,wasn't paying alot of attention when they were talking about the fees. So now your down to $18,000.00. You lost 10% and you didn't expect that. I think you should figure out what you want. On the other hand it would bring abit of attention to the trucks as they seem to be fading away from the masses. What do you thing it's worth?. Also it seems that people are looking for mostly stock ,or really odd vehicles, modified stuff can scare buyers away.

Re: Barett Jackson

B-J auction prices in WPB average 15-20% less than in Scottsdale for similar cars. You're not paying the premium for getting your face on the big broadcast like you do in AZ.

The way I understood it was the buy pays the 10% not the seller...... :dunno:

There's a buyer and seller fee, from what the announcers were talking about. Barrett wins both ways.

Re: Barett Jackson

B-J auctions dont do too well with modified cars, unless they are "famous". My shop sold an 88 Iroc camaro with around 100k invested in it, and didnt even get 22K for it at the auction. We talked to them ahead of time and told them all about it and when the biding barely got to 15k, they really went out of their way to describe all the mods and features. this help bring it up to right around 20-21. definitely disappointing.

I agree alot with what Norm and others said, along with unmolested orig values. My :2cents: is the market has certainly dropped to an all time low so bad that I probably could've bought the red proto Sy, Braphoon, and a SoGT together instead of buying that '06 SS.... :ebay: Maybe getting your truck appraised could help you gauge a reserve. In addition, here is a link to auction results on syty from the last decade.
