what kind of modifications required to install this kit, drilling/cutting? ect
and any rubbing with bigger tires rims on a lowered truck, im defiantly interested in getting that battery out of my way in the engine compartment!
I am installing my kit tonight if the painter finishes my truck. There is no cutting from what I have seen. The unpainted kit in the White Typhoon was a direct fit under the fender. All you have to do is line up the bolts. The cover did rub on the white truck and it was lowered. The first 10 kits are a heavier metal and the cover will need to be bent if you rub. From what I have heard, the initial kit also rubbed. I plan on bending mine with with a rubber mallet if it rubs. The next few kits we will do in a lighter gauge metal so the bending of the cover can be easier. The main modifications will be your cables. The intial kit had two 36" cables from the battery to a junction block on the inner fender. Then from the junction block to the ground and from the junction block to the starter. The starter to the junction block cable should be at least 5ft long. The stock cable, I was told, is 1549mm long. I don't know what that is in inches. The cables can be the confusing part. I thought about supplying cables if someone wanted them to make it easier. I just could not get any breaks with quantity on the cables and shipping went throught the roof. I will try to post this tonight or tomorrow with pictures of the cables I end up using and the junction block. I will probably get them from Summit. I was given great info on how to repost this, so I will get the pics as quickly as possible and show my install.

Thankyou for the interest, Sean

There are 25.4 MM in an inch so 1549 MM =60.98 inches. Comes out to five foot *one* inch...

Re: Battery relocation kit

any one have any installed? that’s a lot of cash for 2 pieces of steel. yes i understand the time involved still does not change the fact of cost. would like to hear from some one other then the maker that has it and what they think.

I would like to inform you of the original cost of the ATR Relocate kit. They sold that kit in 2003, from a catalog, for $149. It came with cables and a junction block, supposedly. I have not seen the catalog first hand, but with the costs of commodities going through the roof, this is very fair considering the original builder. If someone wants to go through the process on their own have at it. I encourage you to research other options before you buy a product always. Good luck on finding this any cheaper.

Re: Battery relocation kit

wasnt bashing your price but for 2 pieces of metal i want to make sure someone else that pays is happy with the product. i know i could make it for much less but then again i dont know what it would look like either. so i am willing to pay more if it is done and just needs paint. and btw 149 was for a complete kit.

Re: Battery relocation kit

Long shot, but are these still being produced? I'm interested in tossing the heavy battery I have down below the stock location in hopes of getting rid of the stock intake snorkel for fear of it failing and blowing chunks of turbo through the motor :)

Re: Battery relocation kit

Is their any noticeable gains with this kit? I'm looking for alittle more air going to the filter by the pass fender. I don't really see much air flow coming from were the battery is. I was at a car show today and saw a few mustangs with the filter inside the fender which seems like a very good idea.

Thanks,
