best balljoints????????

Re: best balljoints????????

If anyone has any specific questions about our products, feel free to contact me directly or visit our forum in the Vendor Marketplace.

You've got the info about the improvements in your ball joints right on the page, but do your other parts have those same benefits too (mid-carbon steel, hot forging, CNC milling, etc.)? Just wondering because you seem to make a big deal of it on the ball joint pages but don't mention it on the other pages, leading me to believe it doesn't apply to the other parts.

Bill,

The other parts are upgraded as well. The ball joints are the easiest to describe and show in pictures because a lot of the differences are visible on the outside (the forged housing, etc). There is little room for improvement on the outside of steering linkage parts (idler arms, tie rod ends, center links, etc) - for example, a thicker housing or a better metal material wouldn't benefit these parts at all, since they are not prone to catastrophic failure. It is very rare for an idler arm, tie rod end, or center link to have the stud ripped out of the housing. Instead, our parts feature enhanced bearing designs to extend the life of the part. Basically, it's what on the inside that counts.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm hoping to place an order with you fairly soon here.

Re: best balljoints????????

I just ordered the SyTy balljoint kit from them. Will post some pics of the RPM coil-overs installed with these ball-joints once it's finished.

Re: best balljoints????????

1. Does anyone have any drive time on these Power Performance ball joints?

2. What do you think about them after driving awhile on them?

I was thinking about buying a complete set. TIA

Nope, my truck is still on jacks. I don't think Rick has driven his yet either. Maybe someone else has?

Re: best balljoints????????

I was wondering the same thing

My dad has done steering and suspension for 13 years and he is a hardcore moog guy I cant stand the way they look but his track record with any other brand is not so good. I have seen just about every other brand ball joint and tie rod in 2 pieces after the customer said to use something else usually within a month. Other than factory pieces (working at a dealer that is all I install) he hate using or aligning anything else.

I need some real world syclone proof before I take the plung plus I have to talk him into using his alignment rack and using a non moog joint is going to be hard so some one slap a set of these on and beat on them

This is the very reason I ask the questions, I have use nothing but Moog parts for the last 30+ years as well and I have never had any problem with them. I have read some of the horror stories that some of the guys have posted here, but I have never seen the problems that these people posted with Moog. Some of the rebuilds that I have done have gone over 300,000 miles since the rebuild and 1 had 450,000 on it. After being on the road for 25 years we took it apart to inspect and replace the bushings in the front end and all the joints where just as tight as the day we installed them. Our 1970 442 W-30 has 165,000 miles on the moog parts.

Re: best balljoints????????

Yeah, I'd love to see some feedback too, as my Bravada is needing uppers, and at 120k, I'd be foolish not to do the rest of the frontend while its apart.

I'll have to check over on S10forum, see if anybody has some experience (good or bad)

Re: best balljoints????????

These guys need to find a test mule for this stuff they need to find someone here that has a truck that runs and gets driven a fair amount maybe even a DD truck would be nice to se on a ty with a little more since they weigh a little more

Re: best balljoints????????

i'd gladly be a test mule.. considering I have 2 trucks I could install them fairly quickly.

I don't put alot of miles on my ty but i do drive it once in awhile.

my sy is in pieces but it will eventually run again.

I dont know how much of a deal they would give you but to me if the results were good I think they would make it back fairly easy

Re: best balljoints????????

so is there anyone who can attest to these lasting longer on low sy/ty chassis?
or will have results soon?
I am going to get some in a month or two when I have some spare change
