ok...i'm trying to find an affordable black low profile filler neck.

Meziere makes this pimp one:

but the thing is $115.

If i have to i'll just get this kind:

and just powdercoat it black. These are available for like $10....so i'll prolly end up going that route.

BTW...any/all chevy water necks bolt up? They all appear to be the same shape, but can someone confirm this.

They have the same bolt pattern, but if your going to run a stock hose , watch the angle of the neck. I bought a billet one off of e-bay for $5.00 plus $7.50 shipping.

yea i figured stock hose won't work. I probably won't end up with a stock radiator anyway...so why have anything stock? heh.

Funny you post this. I was wondering what I'm going to go with as well. All of my -an fittings and hoses are black. More then likely my rails will be black as well. So do I really want a bare metal or a polished/chrome one to stand out. Lol. But damn $115, outch.

Are you sure chrome can be powder coated? You may have to sandblast the $hit out of it before coating.

Re: Black Water Necks

Powder coat the original, it's not chrome. Custom rad? What would look cool for the top "hose" would be very short hoses at each end with a custom black powder coated tube in between. You could fab the thing, polish the welds and have it coated. :tup:I've seen this done in polished stainless on a '32 with a flathead and it was gorgeous.

Mine was cheaper...

However, I really like the idea.

Maybe Ken can make me one like that flathead has....

Tell ya what, that Duce was a jaw dropper. Got a few more pics if you'd like. The detail was phenomenal.

Re: Black Water Necks

another option i'm considering is an AN fitting neck:

from what little research i've done, they come in -16 and -20. Obviously this is a tad thinner than our gaping hole stocker line...is there goign to be any adverse affects from running a thinner diameter line? Whats the recommended size?
