Body mount question

I was scooting up under the Ty working on it (again) and my chest rubbed across the body mount and it fell out.
If you follow the frame along the passenger side starting at the front, right where it comes down next to the catalytic converter is the mount that came out. It looks like the clamshell piece that tightens down and smashes the mount out rusted away to nothing. Anyone every change one of these out? Does the bolt just come out? I know nothing is ever easy on these things.
Thanks in advance.

Life is beter at 25 PSI
just take the center bolt out and you can install a new rubber insulator and new washer. you should also lube the threads of the bolt before you put it back together. pretty simple.

I redid mine

I think you are referring to the large round disk the the head of the bolt pushes up against.

But to answer your question yes the bolt just turn out.

fwiw I found on mine these 2 mounts had bolts that were corroded 25% of their diameter. The others did not show this problem.
I attributed it to 13 years of daily driving thru winter.

I replaced these 2 bolts with new ones i got thru that company that specializes in s10 parts. Cant recall the name since i am home right now so if you need it let me know.

Mine were so bad i was afraid to torq them all the way out of fear they would snap off!!

thanks, guys.
I appreciate it.
Looks like this'll be the first *easy* project on the Ty.

Well on my Sonoma GT the 2 driver side cab mount bolts threaded right out, i was surprised, and they were corroded down pretty good, but the 2 passenger side ones both snapped off right as i tried to turn the bolts, clean off, so now i will have to get the cab off and dril out the broken bolts.

That was what I was kinda figuring on(bolts breaking if I twisted on them).
I'll PB Blast them and torch them.
Hopefully I don't catch the flooring on fire.
Does anyone know if the poly body mounts come with any of the hardware?

Body mount question

Blake,

I bought some poly mounts (best investment I ever made) but no hardware came with the ones that I bought. I got some bolts from the hardware store. The heads were bigger than the ones that came from GM but they worked. I put a log of water proof grease so it would take longer to rust through the next time.

Hope this helps

Thanks guys.
I'll look over on Jas' site and see if I can find any part numbers for the disc and stuff. I found a bunch of hardware in the LMC(I think that's it) catalog but only had small washers and none of the large discs on there. Imagine that
Maybe I can just cut a disc out of some stock. Probably be better than what the factory used anyway.

Performance Suspension makes a nice Poly Replacement kit.

Performance Suspension makes a nice Poly Replacement kit.

I replace all 4 mounts on the main frame with the Poly-Graphite units from PST, nice kit, and makes a big difference in the overall truck feel and response in cornering. Just something to think about.
