hi guys, this is my first engine question on the board, i have a bogging issue when i am stopped at a light and take off, i have a momentary bog of like 1 sec and then my ty takes off? Could this be a vaccuum isssue maybe? bc i kinda have a little too rough idile. ALso im getting like 12psi boost at WOT is that normal?

Re: bog at takeoff

how much gas is in the tank? If it is below a 1/4 of a tank you dont want to be taking off the line really fast because the fuel will go to back of the tank and away from the pickup and u will run out of gas which is bad news when you are at WOT

Re: bog at takeoff

I had the exact same problems on my built motor......The ignition systems are soo soo soo sensitive on these trucks...and in order to figure out whats going on you have to test each system individually....alot of people will tell you an answer right off the bat...but if you test it your self yourself you'll know the truth...

I fixed my problem by dropping the fuel pressure and opening the gap to .40 on the plugs....but I have a different motor than you......so my advise is to take all the advice on this site with very carefully......{get used to reading your plugs}.....{make sure your wires ar'nt burning up and you timing is set correctly} and so on.....

Good luck,
malik

Re: bog at takeoff

What chip are you running?

Do you have an AFPR?

Where are you located? List your location under your avatar by going to the "user cp" in the upper left corner and filling out your profile. That way you can meet up with other local SyTy owners in your area. Also, create a signature too so others on the BB can get to know you on a first name basis.
