Re: Boost contollers?

I have used a grainger valve the past 13 years. It works pretty well. I have a ProfecB spec 2 that has been sitting in the passenger seat for 3 years... still haven't hooked it up.

I use a Blitz SBC ID3 - twin solenoid. Put it in and have never had an issue. Has always held boost within about 2psi across a run for me with no spiking at shifts and consistent across varying weather conditions which I never had with a manual controller. Has several features I don't use. I just use the basic setup so it could probably be even more accurate. One of the better bang-for-buck purchases I have made over the years.

Re: Boost contollers?

Who has the aem tru boost? Ive read till I'm blue in the face with both pros and cons but all have been on other vehicles than our trucks? If u have an aem hit me up via pm with your thoughts or post them!

Re: Boost contollers?

Im probably going to go with a TurboSmart eBoost2, been researching them for a while, talked to a few people who have them, haven't heard anything negative.

i looked at that one, watched a ton of videos, read a bunch of forums etc... it's definitely awesome, and i haven't heard anything bad about it either.

But i still opted for the AEM, not because of money, but because I figured why pay for features that I just wouldn't use... err at least not that often.

can't comment on the AEM yet because it's still sitting in my garage with my 3 gauge pod, my fuel psi gauge, and my plx wb02 set up

I had great success with my aem truboost gauges! You can see them in action in all of my videos! I have swapped to ams1000 for my new build..

I have the AMS1000. It has gear based and time based setups for boost control. You can even setup launch control. It is the best but not for everyone.

It's just a six

Yeah, for $1000 dollars , the AMS1000 I would think it is not in every ones budget either. I am not racing professionally, but, if I was, I would get one, but, that would be a little different scenario, still would have to come up w/the $1000 dollars though.

Good call six , good call! I would hope for a G that it would be a good unit , its like I always say though you can only polish a turd so much and in the end its still a turd!

Wests YouTube videos are entertaining to watch!

Re: Boost contollers?

Holley EFI has some real good boost control logic built in, vs gear, mph, etc. Before I spent 1k on a stand alone boost controller I would add another grand and get 1 system to do everything.

Re: Boost contollers?

I agree with that but I think that's years down the road for me and my Ty, some day ill have that setup, someday! But I think I'm gonna go with tru boost and roll with it and see where it takes me!
