Saturday I took the Ty out for a bit. Stopped and picked up my buddy, and went to Belle Tire to pick up his new rims. While we were there, we started talking with one of his friends who works there, and he wanted to see a boost launch. I put him in the passenger seat, and we pulled out into the street right in front of the store.
Traffic had cleared, and was a little bit behind me, so I started building boost. At around 8#, I see this F250 diesel with twin 6" stacks coming up fast on the left. As he passed me, I launch. He was travelling around 45-50 (speed limit there) and sees me launch, so he pours it on. I see the black plumes billowing from the truck - game on! I left with about a 1/2 second bark of the tires, and buried my foot in her. Within 2 seconds of launch, I overtook that truck and put bus lengths on it! The passenger about shit his pants! I get out of it around 90mph, and a few seconds later the diesel pulls up besides me. He gives me two thumbs up and turns off.
I have been tweaking the tune since Nats, and finally was able to find my lack of boost issue. This run saw 18# boost, and I can tell you that the truck is totally different! I will try to see if I can take her to the track to be formally thrown out (and maybe run that 10 I've wanted)!
