boost pressure, hows it holding?

My vote is going to a leaky wastegate. I've seen them before on the Talons and it sounds exactly like the same symptoms. You can pressurize just the WG and see - air will leak out around the actuator rod if it's shot. Also if the spring inside has failed the boost pressure on the WG valve will blow the WG open. Check to see if the rod easily compresses back into the WG.

I still have my 1991 TSi AWD by the way...just wanted to say HI to a fellow turbo nut. ;)

I'd like to know what's causing your boost problems. My truck behaves similarly. Off the line, boost will reach 24psi (or whatever I set it), then gradually fall off to about 13psi by mid-track. By the end of the run, it's crept back up to 24 pounds. You can REALLY feel the truck fall on its face when this happens. This happened during all my 11-second runs- I can only imagine what my et would be if I could keep constant boost throughout the pass. Haven't had the time too look into it yet.

Let us know what you find.

Only time i've ever had loss of boost while under wot has been during shifts so I can't help much but I can say that the best quality vac lines that i've come across so far and have actually purchased for both a supercharged mustang and the syclone have been from http://www.bakerprecision.com/silicone.htm

btw the red is pretty sweet looking if you don't already have too much color under the hood.

I believe these were the lenghts I needed

4mm hose = 15ft.
6mm hose = 10ft.
