You are getting more than you can use. You don't need (can't use) the spindles, and hubs. You can go to a yard and typically find the calipers, brackets and rotors. If you want to splurge, the corvette front upgrade cost me about 800 all told. This was using brand new from GM parts. I got all of the pieces (brakes, rotors, calipers, brackets, screws nuts and bolts) from GM parts direct. When you order from CBR (or probably ahead of time) he can provide a part number list. Let me know if you have any questions.

The 98+ 2wd Blazers came with a special sealed bearing and spindle setup. VERY similar to the 4wd setup with the exception of not having a hole in the middle of the hub for the CV shafts. I found a complete front spindle/bearing/rotor/caliper setup from a Junkyard for ~$250. Took everything home, rebuilt the calipers, turned the rotors, and swapped in a set of 2" drop spindles from Summit, and bolted it on the truck with new balljoints (stock style, just new). I'm even using the stock S10 brake lines.

This album has a ton of pictures which should help clear things up.

FYI:

I purchased the braket kit from cbr performance (user id TT350 on this board). They were helpful in providing the parts list before I purchased. The brackets are very nice looking. The only thing I did was coated them with some black paint. Here is the parts list he provided directly from the instructions.

"Here is a copy and past out or my manual.

If you have purchased the C-5 (Y-Body) conversion bracket kit, here is a list of parts required to complete your brake upgrade. These are 97-04 C-5 (Y-Body) Corvette front brake parts.

• Caliper Bracket – Part # 12455799 (Two Required)
• Guide Pin – Part # 12530697 (Four Required)
• Guide Pin Boot – Part # 12530703 (Four Required)
• Guide Pin Bolt – Part # 14067559 (Four Required)
• Left Caliper – Part # 12530683 (One Required)
• Right Caliper – Part # 12530682 (One Required)
• Left Rotor – Part # 10445857 (One Required)
• Right Rotor – Part # 10445856 (One Required)
• Pads – Part # 88955513 (One Set Required)
NOTE: If Z06 Calipers are desired the part #’s are as follows:
• Z06 Left Caliper – Part # 88895128
• Z06 Right Caliper – Part #88895129

NOTE: The above listed GM part numbers are accurate to the best of our knowledge!"

I purchased my calipers from www.kore3.com They were very helpful and very competitive pricing.

I purchased my dimpled and slotted rotors from www.brakeperformance.com I went with them because my boss has been daily driving his pontiac with them for probably 20k+ miles and said they work great with no issue at all. He actually has to be careful when he brakes because people almost rear end him he stops so quickly. There weren't a lot of options for dimpled rotors either. I wanted the look of cross drilled without the probability of cracking. They also come with a lifetime warranty against warping, materials and workmanship defects. They were a good price. Hopefully I am as satisfied as my boss is.

Man, he's got you a recipe right there for the C5 stuff. Buy those part numbers, and the bracket kit from CBR, and you'll be good to go.

OR,

Buy a complete spindle setup from a 98+ 4wd blazer, and upgrade to the dual piston calipers and slightly larger rotors for cheap.

Re: <Borat voice> Sexy time! New brakes....

Well it was easier than I expected, but still took me a while. I have no experience doing this sort of thing and found it kind of easy overall. I did the abs delete at the same time with the blingy abs delete kit I purchased from the GP a while ago. The cutting of the spindles wasn't too bad. I used a cut off wheel. Here are some installed pics. It looks badass and feels good. I only drove it about 5 miles so far. If you notice anything wrong please let me know so I can fix it. :)

Re: <Borat voice> Sexy time! New brakes....

resurrecting this thread since i just picked up one of the last CBR kits... i have 2002 WS6 wheels 17"x9". I should be ok with the C5 Z06 calipers with the 13.1" rotor correct? or do i have to switch up to 18's?

also i haven't been on the boards in a while and should probably use the search for this but i'll ask anyway... with this snazzy ABS delete kit, doesn't the ABS light come on? Or do you need to go into the dash and pop the bulb out of there so it's not on all the time?

Re: <Borat voice> Sexy time! New brakes....

My ABS light is off. I didn't do anything to have it that way except delete the ABS. I had no problem fitting my wheels with these brakes. If you go to www.kore3.com they have templates you can print out to figure if you have the right clearance for whatever brakes you want to run.

Re: <Borat voice> Sexy time! New brakes....

I am having brake problems, and about to have the truck taken to the shop. Instead of fixing the stock stuff, I think I will upgrade to c5 z06 brakes too. I was going to do stock drilled/slotted rotors and semi-metallic pads , but that didnt seem good enough. I have never had braking confidence in this truck and would love some :) .

***If I bought this caliper kit:

http://www.kore3.com/proddetail.php?prod=10126-02

That includes everything on your list but the "guide pin bolts #14067559 ".

***Then these rotors:

http://www.kore3.com/proddetail.php?prod=10171-02 (left)
http://www.kore3.com/proddetail.php?prod=10172-02 (right)

Is that all you need for the swap? Your stock master cylinder and all hoses are just reused? I have an ABS delete kit I will get installed also.

What was CUSTOM that you got from CBR? Their website is down. Do the stock c5 caliper brackets not install , so the thing you got was a custom "c5 caliper bracket install kit" to fix that problem, from CBR? Is CBR the only place that makes that kit? THANKS A TON ---

From what I can recall, the CBR kit came with brackets to mount the calipers along with bolts and spacers and shims to mount the brackets to the spindles (which you have to cut and grind to fit the brackets) and hoses to connect the calipers to your stock brake lines. All I bought was the CBR kit, the caliper kit from kore3, and then rotors and pads. The guide pin bolts you are asking about come in the kore3 caliper kit.

And I was going to buy those rotors, but I decided against completely drilled rotors and wanted dimpled for the same look.
