I did corvette c5 z06 calipers in the front and rear. The fronts were easy to install. Just needed to modify the spindle and get a bracket, lines, rotors, calipers, pads. I haven't done the rears yet. I have the parts, just haven't gotten around to it.
I'm sure there are easier combos and better combos, but I liked the look and performance of what I ended up with.
Well as far as easy and direct fiit I would go the 1998+ 4wd blazer front disc brakes with 1998+ 2wd rear disc. Everything is a direct fit including abs and parking brake. It could be very inexpensive if you go the junkyard. I think I picked everything for under $80 . A lot of the u-picks places have 50% every Tuesday. I personally used the old calipers for cores and got new calipers. They gave me $115 dollars back for the cores, which paid for my junkyard parts plus enough for lunch!
You can do that, but they also noted best, and after doing the F-body/C5 swap on 4-5 Sy's it is a better swap IMHO.
Your call though, the one mentioned above is not a bad idea, just not what I would do. The modding for F-body/C5 is so minimal don't let that deter you from it. If you can work an angle grinder you can tackle this project in a good day.
My only suggestion is using 98-02 F-body rear disc so that you can run a parking brake and they are almost identical in size and flavor to the C5Z rear discs.
I already have the C5 z06 rears and stuff, but no parking brake. Is there a way to combine the 98-02 F-body rear disc with the parts I already have so I can use a parking brake? I wasn't worried about not having a parking brake because I've never used it in the 9 years of owning my truck.... but I'd rather have it and not ever use it than not have it at all.
I was able to pick up a complete set of C5 Z06 calipers and rotors for $400 shipped off of a corvette forum. Bought the Renz kit for the front. Had a friend of my dads make the caliper bracket for the rear, and Renz had some rear brake hoses made up for them. Turned out nice. I can have him make another set of brackets if you want. Think they were somewhere around $100.
