Bravada at the track...

HARRRR!!!
In case anyone is interested we ran the "Braphoon" last night at GLD. Lemme just say the announcer is REALLY cool!

First time out ran a 13.2 at 102 with a 1.97 60 ft.. Not bad considering we just drove an hour in traffic. Then rattled off a 13.5. Ick. Left with less boost at the line (2-3 lbs.) on the 13.5 run and cut a whooping 2.02 60 ft. Let her cool down for an hour, and tried to leave with more boost. Third time left with 7-8 lbs, got 1.89 60 ft, and another 13.2. These first three we couldn't build more than 15 lbs of boost during the run Boost was all over the place. Fourth run we yanked the stock air intake box, and left with more boost (11.8lbs). 13.017 @ 103 1.82 60 ft. Guhh...so close to that magical 12 number. Last run of the night. Got a bag of ice, and threw that on the IC during the staging lanes. Waited literally an hour while the track folk let the motorcycles, snowmobiles, ambulances, and jr. dragsters run/explode. Pull up to the line, thought I saw both staging lights come down (turns out I was wrong and had to have the track official pull me up to bring down the second set of lights. whoops  ) Built about 13-14 lbs on the line and launched HARD Sean Morris style. ;) Cut a 1.82 60 ft. Guy hands me the ticket........13.002 GHAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Now I know this isn't a 11.01 @ 126, but what's with the .002?! Grr....

But I'm still pleased with the results. 13.0 at 15lbs. after hitting curbs/swamps/Degohbah is really good for a four door behemoth like the Bravada.

Big thanks to BG and BW for "putting the cole to fire", and going with. And Dave Buckshaw for believing in boost!

Wish I could have gone...not bad at all, decent 60' and with boost control all over the place and somewhere under 15PSI I'd say that is pretty good...get some boost control, good gas, little more timing and tuning you'll be in the low 12 :D Now all you need is some stickers to go with that hood and you'll be the shiznit. Who knows maybe we can run soon, I'll promise to keep boost under 10PSI  Laters and remember race at the track not when the five oh is right behind you 8)

Nice times... I know what you mean. When I was testing and tuning the sy trying to get into the 11's the last run of the night and I run a 12.005. Really pissed me off. But I did get those 11's a few months later.

Mad Mike:

I guess there is always someone with a worse story. I was talking with Rich Eartly last night, he said he ran a 13.001. That would have killed me even more. Oh well....12's soon!!!

Prolly get a better time if you had some different wheels ;)

Nice run Jerry.

Thanks Mr. Compaq * translation get back to work!! ;) *

Actaully we put the wheels from my SY on the Braphoon. Running 255/50/16 EAGLE's. Might be able to squeek-out some 1.7's with these. Once BG and I figure out FREEBSD, I might be able to update the chitown website with some current pics and timeslips...etc...
