Re: brodix heads

Brodix require specail headers, Vortecs don't. They are in stock as of last week. 1600-1800 bare.

Re: brodix heads

Bowties can be just as $$ and as hard to make run as brodix. Intake depends on style/pn and if they've been milled or not.

No they dont require special headers. Now if you say the stock manifolds wont fit then I would agree. I run the kb headers that are designed for the stock heads without any issues on the lil brodix. Hope this helps. Also I plan on selling the Kb headers if anyone is interested.

Re: brodix heads

Where you going a new pair of KB headers? Unless you get ones custom made or ask Mike at RPM you are SOL. I personally dont want a pair of 10 year old headers. Most old members know they are a POS.

Look at KB now, selling Lysolm stuff with their name on it.

Go order a set of standard new headers and see how well it goes.

Re: brodix heads

I have brodix heads with custom headers made by MPE out of New Jersey. Great work indeed. As for making power, from what I understand you can make those numbers on Vortecs. Even if you do get brodix heads, I would suggest getting a full port and polish done to them. If you want to still make power but go the cheaper route, go for vortecs. If I'm wrong feel free to correct me SyTy Gurus, but that has been my personal experience.

Re: brodix heads

I have allready proven to run mid 10s. On stock manifolds, ported vortecs and a off the shelf 422 cam. Dont waste you money. Put the extra cash into a good fuel system and some type of tuning system. Big stuff, DFI code 59 ect.

Re: brodix heads

You can or could order brodix heads with straight plug holes..

My friend has them on his Syclone & uses the stock exhaust manifolds.

yes true, but just because they are straight doesn't mean they are at the same angle as the stock or vortec heads. They are aimed down and have TERRIBLE clearance with the stock exhaust manifolds. Unless you buy unfinished castings and tap your own spark plug holes, i suggest you plan on using aftermarket headers. They will rub and burn through plug wires like butter.

There is a reason we have different header fixtures for vortec, straight plug brodix, and angled brodix heads (for use with stock turbo location) The vertical plug angle is vastly different.

With remote turbo location like the KB and our custom headers with T4 flange there is enough room to re-route the pipes and have clearance for both straight and angle heads.
