Re: C6 ZO6 brakes and wheel project

where is this spacer going. Is it to space the bracket farther out from the hub to clear the caliper from the rotor?

From the bracket to the caliper, about 1/2 inch. just so happened to have some the perfect size laying around. ill mic them in a little while. Ill post that in my thread (new updates). or pm me for more technical stuff. Spacers are the same size, front and rear.

Re: C6 ZO6 brakes and wheel project

I did the c6 z06 brakes as well. I also did my 8.5 silverado rear end at the same time. More rotating mass. I noticed a good amount of difference between the c6 brakes and stock. I did 18's all the way around no spacer's, fits great. My rear end was alittle wider than the stock syty's. Maybe its because of the rear end. The c6 brakes weigh is 126.4 lbs total. according to this website. www.velocitycorvette.com Front rotor 25.95lbs, rear rotor 19.90lbs, front caliper 9.10lbs, rear calipers 8.25lbs. It adds up quick. Thats 39lbs more than C5 brakes (total 87.4lbs C5). I am debating on going to the c5 z06 setup. No where near the amount of bling but great brakes. Or just keep the c6's and try to make more power. I dont know. I want my truck to perform best in the 1/4 mile, but at the same time be a nice DD. Pro's and Con's.....

Re: C6 ZO6 brakes and wheel project

How much heavier are the C6 Z06 fronts and rears vs. stockers or the Baers? My Baer 13" setup is cooked and I want something better. Truck is too fast to have fading brakes.
